We stayed here before a cruise. They were quick to reply to confirm reservation and accomodations for children. We had some problems coming in via the train and contacting the hotel. My wife had to go to the police station and they called the hotel. They quickly came down to pick us up.

We ate dinner at the hotel. The price was reasonable - but the steaks were average (by US standards). The service was typical European -nothing out of the ordinary. No one really stood out on the service side.

The walls are thin and you can hear most everything that happens in the dining area. May have just been our room.

I would stay again for a night but not any longer. The kids enjoyed seeing the animals.

We stayed here one night before departing on a cruise. Tenuta dell'Argento (literally, Silver Estate) is up a large hill, a roughly 10-15 minute ride from Civitavecchia. It has rolling hills and great views of the port. The estate itself is relatively new but done in Italian country style. There is small lobby with free internet (including computer) and wifi, a restaurant, and small outdoor pool. The best part by far was spending time with the adorable cows, sheep, pigs and horses at the ranch. Overall, the hotel is a solid, quality place with the owners trying hard to be accommodating.

The hotel offers a free shuttle to the cruise port. They had indicated that it could also pick us up at the train station, but our train arrived late. When I called the hotel, they suggested we take a cab but offered to call one for us if we couldn't find one. I don't really fault them for this slight inconvenience as it was very late when we arrived and the shuttle driver had left for the day. (A cab was 20 euros from the train station. If you're coming in from the train station, it's wise to have coins to make a call to the taxi dispatch in case taxis aren't around. The taxi dispatch number is outside the train station by the cab stand.)

Check-in was easy and the lady at the desk was very friendly. As it was late when we arrived, she was not sure if the restaurant, which serves vegetables from the hotel's garden and beef from their cattle, was still open. We went to the restaurant to inquire, and one man sitting outside was friendly and said they were open. When we went inside, the manager clearly was not happy with us but seated us anyway. It was my husband's birthday and we were exhausted after over 24 hours of being in transit, and I could do without his attitude. Frankly, he should have either said he was sorry, the restaurant was closed, or welcomed us. He hurried us through our meal, though the food was quite good.

The room was sparsely furnished but brand new and very comfortable and clean. There was even a bottle of champagne and happy birthday note for my husband. The bathroom had a shower and ample toiletries and hot water. Everything was new and tastefully done. Outside, the beautiful grounds were meticulously kept and had fresh lavender growing everywhere. It's a small but cozy place and would make a great home base for day trips. Continental breakfast was included in the dining room and included pastries, cereal, yogurt and ham. The shuttle to the port was great.

The owners were really warm and welcoming. Since they are still somewhat new, they may still be ironing out some kinks. We would definitely return and wish we had longer to stay.

We only stayed for four days at this splendid place, but we could easily stay longer. It's not a hotel, it's not a B&B, but it's a great resort that offers everything to make you feel very very comfortable. Their restaurant is fabulous. If you love pasta and meat, that's the right place. You don't need to go to the restaurants in Civitavecchia. And that lovely swimming pool... fantastic. The staff is fantastic and very friendly too. Such a peaceful place in a peaceful area and only 5 minutes away from the city. A great place to start off your journey to the countryside or even to Rome. If you want to visit that area, stay at la Tenuta dell'Argento Resort. You won't regret.

My son and I stayed in the hotel and had the distinct pleasure of enjoying the beauty of the land and the views. The sunsets were simply amazing! And the view of the ocean was spectacular.

The staff was polite and helpful. They were fluent in both English and Italian. The shuttle service was prompt and efficient.

There was a complimentary breakfast which was nice and of course I enjoyed a capuccino overlooking the water.

The restaurant was superb-typical Italian appetizers and a steak that could put the American Angus beef to shame !

The pool was immaculate and the general atmosphere was peaceful and charming.

My son enjoyed seeing the ranch and the animals roaming the open range.

My only complaint would be that I didnt have more time to spend there.

Spent the night before our cruise at this hotel. Very glad we did. Very clean and modern accomodations. Lovely pool with beautiful view of the coast. Food was excellent in a pretty setting. Room and food cost just a little less than in historic district of Rome. The hotel shuttle dropped us directly to the ship the next day. We took the train down from Rome. Pick up at station and drop to ship was included in the room rate. The hotel is isolated in the countryside so for longer stays you would need a vechicle. I think it would be good for a weekend.
