“Great food, great price!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

Went for lunch while we were waiting for our laundry. A great little spot under the white umbrellas in the town square. We each had a dish of handmade pasta cooked with those wonderfully rich Sicilian tomatoes and freshly cooked clams and mussels, and each of us had a soft drink....... All for under €25! A wonderful meal at a great price!

“Not an obvious choice.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

We had a day in Civitavecchia off a cruise ship, we fancied a bite to eat and saw this restaurant in a small square. It is unassuming with hand written signs displaying their specials and with tables and chairs that have seen better days. We noticed they had home made pasta so we gave it a go. They did not seem to speak English but I speak some Italian, so feeling confident we ordered a couple of beers and looked at the menu. They delivered the beers plus some complimentary olives and crisps. I love all pastas and can be a little over fussy but their ravioli was incredible and my wife's tagliolini with mussels was, she said, the best she had ever had. Please give it a go next time you've just come back from Rome and waiting to go back on your cruise ship.

“Excellent seafood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2011

We were wandering around Civitevecchia after our fiasco at the hotel looking for place to eat. It was a Sat night and lots of people were about. We were checking out all the places and their menus however we saw this place which did not list the specials in English. Luckily our friend knew italian and I wanted to go here because I figured it was a place that lots of the locals go and not really touristy.

I was so right!

The food was delicious and one of the most memorable for the two weeks we were in Europe. The people were very friendly, though I don't think they spoke much English. We ordered the house wine and they brought bread.

We ordered a couple of dishes and shared them. We mostly ordered from the specials of the day which included a seafood dish which was huge with delicious broth that we dipped the bread into. Our friend got a fish dish which he really enjoyed and we got another dish was steamed seafood in seaweed which was also delicious.

Seating is outside in a square which had great atmosphere. This place is a real gem if you're looking for something that is not typical for tourists. We loved it so much we went back again the second night we were there. We even saw one of the woman who worked there the afternoon after our first visit and she waved and said hi to us (when we were at another restaurant for lunch)

I would definitely go back here again and highly recommend it.
