“A hotel in a wonderful park, but a so poor breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2012

The hotel is located in a beautiful park jus in front of the seafront in Cinquale, near the famous Forte dei Marmi.
The hotel is classified as a 4 stars hotel, but the furniture of the room is as a 3 stars hotel.
The view from the balcony of our room was very relaxing because we can see the wonderful park where the hotel is located. In fact from outside you can’t see the hotel because the trees hide it.
The room was spacious but the bathroom wasn’t so nice but it was big.
The hotel has an indoor swimming pool with termal water and a nice grass lawn in front of the pool.
The breakfast was very poor and when we arrive at 10,00 AM the food wasn’t replaced again because at 10,30 the breakfast will be finished.
It was a very rude and inacceptable conduct of the hotel’s staff!!
It’s not acceptable to have this treatment in a 4 stars hotel!!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2008

We stayed one of Villa Undulna's 2 bedroom apartments. It was fitted out well and was comfortable.

AS per the other review, there is not a great deal going on in the local village so we went to Forte dei Marmi most evenings.

Teh hotel is 50m from the beach, you have to pay for them even though the Hotel has some permanent spaces on one of the beaches; 45 euro per day for 2 deck chairs, lounger and umbrella. I personally thought this was expensive. Further south we found a Municple beach which was 20 euros per day for the same equipment. On my last day I found another for 10euro about 1 km north of the the villa. The public beach was very small, crouded and not as clean as the private beaches.

The Villa was nice and quite a retreat; we had a hire car which felt like the cheapest in the car park. Whilst the grounds were relaxing we could not completly as we had our children with us; it felt more of an adults environment.

In terms of the cost, I was suprised that only the pool was included and even things like the steam rooms were charged for.

I did not sample their food (as an apartment resident breakfast was not even included) so unable to comment.

The Hotel is conveniently located 50 mt from the beach. Nothing much to do around - The little village beside has little to offer and you will have to gravitate towards Forte dei Marmi -
The Spa is very good tha swimming pool generous and the spa waters fantastic. The staff was extremely helpful -
Only downside ; the food at the restaurant was just appalling - very odd for an area that is spoilt with delicious specialites.
maybe because we were visiting "outside season".

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Opened in 1998, Terme della Versilia is one of the few spas located by the sea along the Italian coast. Our spa & resort invites you to experience the old world, while enjoying all the luxuries of modern times. Terme della Versilia is located in an area of lush natural beauty. But besides pleasing the eye, nature's bounty can be used to heal the body and mind. Natural spring waters as well as naturally occurring peat, make Terme della Versilia a singular experience. The water springs forth at our vicinity abundant in bromine, sodium, and ten times richer in iodine than sea water, leading to it being classified as bromo-iodic salt thermal water. Pure and bacteria-free, it has countless therapeutic properties which benefit the body. Iodine stimulates the metabolism, bromine has sedative effects, sodium eliminates excess fluids, and much more. Our peat is of the highest quality, originating from Lake Massaciuccoli. It has undergone a thousand year metamorphosis from the vegetable species, sphagnum moss, into the dark and creamy peat it is today. Hotel Villa Undulna**** Terme della Versilia is nestled in quiet corner of the popular Versilia coast, just a few paces from the beach and only 3 kilometres from the centre of the seaside hotspot of Forte dei Marmi. A green oasis where you can relax in front of one of the most well-known Italian beaches. At Ristorante Terme della Versilia we believe that quality health depends on quality foods. Delight in a variety of fine flavours by partaking in the mastery of Chef Giuseppe Fulco whose creations range from traditional regional dishes to Italian and International delicacies as well. Hotel Villa Undulna **** Terme della Versilia is a veritable green oasis, a place with a perfect balance of style, quality and content. It serves as an excellent starting point for your next adventure. Whether it be an exploration of 20 km of our beautiful Tuscan coast, or a dip into the Mediterranean to engage in classic sea sports such as sailing or windsurfing. The discovery of the Apuan Coast’s prestigious resorts of Marina di Carrara, Marina di Massa, Ronchi, Poveromo and Cinquale, along with the exceptional well-being services of our Spa, insure visitors a splendid mix for a holiday in Massa-Carrara. ... more   less
