“We love Tuscany and the Palazzo Bandio”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2012 via mobile

Overall, we were very pleased with our stay. The views were spectacular. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. We stayed at Palazzo Bandino at the mid point of a two week tour of Italy and used it as "down time". The spa was one of the biggest advantages of the agriturismo compared to the others we looked at and we were not disappointed. The massage was very good, and the spa facility was new and modern.

The apartments were spacious with plenty of room to unpack. They included a kitchen. We used the washing machine.

The food was a high point and a great value. Very tasty and authentic. All the vino you could drink, including some of the more expensive bottles. The after dinner drinks were an added value.

It was a great launching point for visiting Tuscany. The "old part" of the near-by town of Chianciano Terme was covered with "for sale" signs and was deserted, but there were plenty of other places near by.

As was the case for most of our trip to Italy, the air conditioning did not work. The owners were apologetic and brought fans, but they were in a heat wave, temps of 94' it was a little hard to sleep. AC is not needed most of the year.

Overall we were pleased and would return.

Fabulous location right in the middle of Tuscany, we had the private little cabin was great, only had breakfast which was nothing special as they never opened for dinner the 4 nights we were there, also never got to taste their wine which was one of he reasons we wanted to stay at a working winery, so be sure and inquire before you book. Location is perfect for day trips to other parts of Tuscany. Spa was over priced for what you got but loved the salt water pool.

Room Tip: Ask for the private little cabin

This place might not seem much when arriving, but considering the people running the place, this is by far the best holiday location our family have visited.
We have been to Bandino twice and will be going there again this year (2012).
TIP: Quiet, private location = The apartment named Vigneto
TIP2: Space and good terrace = The apartment named Olivo
Their wine might be rustic and young, but certainly worth trying - try the desert wine too....
Their kitchen is rustic Italian..... but the taste.... Very good and plenty of it.
Total dinner service for a 4-course dinner incl wine/soft/beer: EUR 25 pr person.... Is that inexpensive or is that inexpensive....?
The team is just fantastic and they understand the word service to its essence.
Highly recommendable.

This place is a hidden jewel! We stayed at Palazzo Bandino for 5 days and loved every minute of it. It is the perfect location to make day trips to Montepulciano, Siena, San Giamingano, and Cortona.. The staff is extremely friendly, the owner Marta was very sweet, the apartment we rented was clean and had a fabulous view, and the food and wine here are fantastic! A great place to stay for a very reasonable price. We can hardly wait to go back again. Thank you Marta!

The rooms are big and rustic and the hotel has nice surroundings. It is rural but near many villages.

Spend a couple of hours in the spa, it’s very nice, clean and new, just missing some details as shampoo and conditioner.

Eating was a great experience. The dinner was four courses accompanied by their own wines,
and I had one of the best pasta dishes ever!!!!
All members of the staff where great, and the owners are very hospitable. Enjoy!

My husband and I, along with good friends of ours (couple), stayed at Palazzo Bandino our last 2 nights in Italy. We chose the town of Montepulciano since I heard it was beautiful and it was only a 3 hour drive to Rome airport for our flight back home to NY.

The home cooked Tuscan food at Palazzo Bandino was my favorite food during our 16 day Europe trip (12 day Mediterranean cruise + 4 days on land in Italy). It truly was! The price was 20 or 25 euros per person for dinner and that includes unlimited wine made from their vineyard!

The accomodations were ok, so if you are looking for luxury, pampering, and modern rooms, you should choose another place. We wanted to "rough it" and stay at a true Tuscany farmhouse. The views are great, you have the vineyards within steps of your room and again, the food is to die for!!!

I was nervous to book this through In Italy online (California based travel agent) since the reviews on Palazzo Bandino were hard to find, but we were so happy we did!
