“Great Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014

The decor is what I definitely wanted Italy to be all about and the food was wonderful. The staff seemed to be a little inattentive that evening but it may have been that they understood English about the same as we did Italian.

“Local family run restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

Lovely family run restarant with outside seating. The steak is to die for and they have an excedllent choice of local tuscan wines. All local tuscan foods. Try it, always busy.

“Surprising Little Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

I entered this modest restaurant with very low expectations. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. The menu was extensive and the food excellent. I ordered spaghetti with duck meat sauce. As much as I love duck, I had never had it with pasta. The sauce was a bolognaise style, but tastier than any I had ever had. In addition, the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more accomodating. We were a group of six women -- each had something different, and each one raved about what they had had.

“some great choices and great gelato”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2011

Wild meat options! But go for the venison stew, pasta with funghi (world class), or similar. Most of the fowl was a bit dry.

“This new open air restaurant is a gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2011

When we went to Chianciano 6 weeks ago the terrace restaurant was still being finished. Luckily for us when we returned last week the restaurant was fully open and a real treasure. You sit on an open terrace and with a menu changing daily, can not get bored. There is nothing pretentious about the restaurant and you really do get superb food. We would often start with an aperitif at the bar on the lower level, Bar Le Fonti, (the manager and staff in the bar were incredibly friendly and spoke excellent English) and then come up to our table. Our waitress Fredericca was so pleasant and looked after us brilliantly. The food is classic Italian. Simple and absolutely delicious. I would say that the food is certainly the best that we have experienced in Chianciano. The pasta was fantastic and the plates of melon, prosciutto and salami were incredible. On the hot evenings, to sit outside and enjoy great food and wine was wonderful, it made our holiday. The only comment/tip that I would make to anyone is that if you order a meat dish is that it comes on the bone and in small pieces. It is typically Tuscan, however it made the rabbit and chicken a little less enjoyable and there was little meat and a lot of bone! But that is how the typical dishes are prepared as we know, it was just not to our taste, although the meat itself was very tender and flavoursome. We are returning at Christmas and very much hope that they are able to somehow conquer the weather with heaters or temporary walls as we certainly intend to go back!
