This wonderful place has the most beautiful location overlooking Lake Como. The hotel itself is like a cosy and beautiful castle, and they really make you feel like royalty. Beautiful terrace to have your breakfast or a coffee or a drink in the afternoon or befor dining in the wonderful restaurant.
Beautiful building, top class service and facilities. Great SPA and excellent location. You can easily take a boat trip to other villages and smll cities along the Lake Como, boat leaves from the hotel or closeby.
Higly recommended. Expensive but great value. Romantic.

This is one of the hotels where you feel the hospitality of personnel as soon as you do your first step into the hotel. First of all, they did the upgrade for us (probably because we were with the baby), but it was very thoughtful of them. The scenery from our balcony was breathtaking, we had our own small garden, where our baby could play. The food in the main restaurant is delicious. Having breakfast near the magnificent lake is appetite-raising The walking and jogging area is fantastic. We will definitely come back to this hotel!!! The best hotel in Como region!!!!

The hotel and it's grounds are like stepping back in time (in a good way). The service is incredible. You will never hear "no" from a staff member. The setting is serene and relaxing from the second you step foot in the hotel. It's really something that is worth experiencing.

A friend booked In here for her birthday, and she graciously invited us to join her there for some drinks and dinners, I stayed In a lovely apartment nearby but nonetheless was impressed with the Villa d'Este. It is elegant and classy, but never feels like the staff is cloying or promoting a Hollywood atmosphere (even if you may see a few celebrities amongst your fellow diners and guests). The price may be steep but it is worth it.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, pay the extra money for a room facing on Lake Como!

Unparalleled service. Exquisite grounds. Luxuriously appointed rooms. Excellent restaurants.

Other than that the view from our room was of a fire escape and the main entrance to the hotel it's hard to say anything negative about the place.

There is a price for luxury. You'll pay it here.

I visited the hotel for the first time in July. It was everything I had imagined. Gorgeous hotel, excellent room, amazing food and a very attentive and loyal staff. We had a room on the top floor of the Queens Pavillion over the lake. It had 2 balconies with doors that opened into the room. Oh Mio Dio. We loved the Queens Pavillion as we did not hear the music from the patio of the main building streaming into our room at night. We tried all the restaurants and I recommend that if possible. You can walk into the little town outside the gate. They also have a water taxi to Bellagio with a guide pointing out homes of interest twice a week. The garden and mosaic wall was spectacular. Run don't walk. Oh and if you are worried about the price this is not your place. But in this price point it's the best hotel I have been to.

Room Tip: Queens Pavillion for Quiet. Top floor lake view with balcony was amazing. Corner room over the lake...

My husband and I have just spent three glorious nights at this hotel. My husband's parents had stayed there over 35 years ago and told us it was a must do in our itinerary.
From the moment we arrived until the time we left, we were entranced. The check in is swift and the extra attention begins from the very beginning when you are personally escorted to your room. We had reserved a double deluxe lake view room and were so delighted to be shown to Room 510! Not only did we have a divine view of the lake from a little balcony at the front of our room, we also had a side balcony with two sun beds, all very privately our own. Fifteen minutes after arrival, to our surprise, a complimentary bottle of sparkling white wine was delivered to our room, what a lovely touch.
We dined at "The Grill" restaurant which was a special experience, sitting out on the terrace watching the lights around the lake slowly twinkle on.
Breakfast is included in the tariff so we enjoyed an extensive buffet each morning in he beautiful "Verandah Restaurant".
A ten minute walk from the gates of Villa d'Este you will find many restaurants to select from. Do not visit Cernobbio for the shopping, there is very little there. We couldn't even find a small supermarket anywhere.
We took a ferry trip from Como to Bellagio which was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. The cruising on the lake allows you to take in all the sights and the destination is delightful.
Try and take time to explore the gardens at Villa d'Este. We spent nearly two hours climbing the many stairs up and through the ruins that hover above the property. Great exercise and then the views are a bonus.
Everything at Villa d'Este is five star. They have been doing this so long they have mastered the art of hospitality.

Room Tip: Everyone would be happy in Room 510
