“REMARKABLE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

We spent three nights on (Room 156) overlooking mosaic garden - what a beautiful old world hotel - extremely spacious, grandly decorated rooms. Brilliant service - breakfast buffet comprehensive, drinks on terrace very special. Unfortunately very wet while we were there, however the beauty of the area still shone through!!!! This is a MUST visit region. The Villa is a short not steep 5 minute walk into a very quaint village - shopping, restaurants etc , 10-15 minutes by car to Como.

Room Tip: Our room was very quiet, extremely spacious, decorated in luxurious old world style, with full view...

We spent four nights in this old school hotel.

Rooms. Italian style rooms are colorful and spacious. Our room had a small bath without additional shower. Bed was king and very wide I must add. We had some difficulties with the heating but it was taken care of after we mentioned about it.

Food. It's upscale italian and the restaurants are very good. Also service is very good.

Pool. Hotel has a large pool inside & outside. Nice places to chill and have a swim if it's a warm summer day.

Have a boat ride on the lake, take ferries from a village to another, Como is very beautiful.

There are a lot of tourist in the high season, I would recommend going there before or after it.

Room Tip: We had a suite. stay in the main building.

One of the most outstanding hotels in the world. Lake Como is one of the most beautiful places on earth. If you can - charter a speed boat and cruise around the lake - Definitely stop at Bellagio - walk up the hill - great art galleries and restaurants. When we returned to the hotel after dinner at a local ( actually not so local) restaurant - there was music on the veranda. We danced and just enjoyed the surroundings. In a short while there was thunder and lightning silhouetted against the surrounding mountains. Like a dream world.

I can't begin to explain what a remarkable setting this hotel presents. The views of the lake and the hills across it make you want to sit and lounge forever. Take a water taxi to Como or for a real treat get to Bellagio however you can. With half board we ate breakfast and it was great with the veranda to lounge and enjoy. Honeymoon, anniversary, or whatever special occasion this is the place.

This is as close to heaven on earth as possible. Great hotel with a antique look. The service and the location is amazing. Was there with my wife for 3 days and it was one our best holidays. The restaurants are amazing and u r at the lake, having breakfast in the morning in your balcony is bliss. I would recommend everyone to visit lake como and stay at this hotel.

It's been on my bucket list to visit Lake Como and stay at this hotel for a long time. My review compares this hotel to other 5 stars - so maybe it seems a little harsh. The hotel is in a beautiful location. The grounds are lovely as is the hotel and common areas. We greatly appreciated that our rooms were upgraded and the views were quite nice. In an upscale hotel, you expect nice crisp linens and gorgeous furnishings. The linens were just average; the bedspread looked as though it had been there many years. While the room rate was about what you can expect (we aren't complaining about that), food at the bar was outrageously priced - 30 euros for an average club sandwich. One concierge was great, the other - not so much. I'm glad I got to experience this hotel as it is lovely - but it is not one for which I long to return.
