“Great Hotel and Great Staff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

We had intended to rent a house near Cefalu, but on arrival found that it was not close to its Internet description and photos (hot and dirty with a stray cat guarding it). We left quickly but now needed accommodations for the remaining four days of vacation before returning home. We learned of Alberi Del Paradiso on TripAdvisor and called. They had availability, but we would not reserve until we saw the rooms. We arrived we were greeted enthusiastically by the front desk staff on duty, Benedict and Rosie. They were great and they were helpful. We were shown the needed two rooms, which were spotless. They offered the deal that could not be refused and we stayed. And we are glad we did. What a contrast to the hotel we stayed at in Taormina! This is an excellent hotel with extremely comfortable rooms, competent staff, great restaurant and bar. The staff could not do enough and they couldn't do it fast enough. When we return to Cefalu, this is the place we will go. This hotel far exceeded our expectations.

Room Tip: Select the superior room as they are larger and more comfortable than the standard rooms. It is wor...

We stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel itself is beautiful. Green, nice pool and breakfast place. The walk to the city is 15 minutes away, the same with the beach. The hotel has a shuttle bus but the time table is not ideal. Its not leaving before 10.30 and the last bus home from the beach/city is five. The bus is unpredictable and often full. But it was not that a big problem because you can walk in 15 minutes anyway.

Good breakfast. Fresh orangejuice, berries and they make omelett and eggs without any costs.

The hotel has a private beach. Its okey. Sandy, but a lot of hard stones as well.
The hotel restaurant was nothing special. Expensive, small portions. Ok if you stay home one night.

The only thing that was a big disapointment was the fitness room.. Small, old fashioned. Useless.

Cefalù - Pronounced ChefalU - accent on the last syllable. A lovely hotel along the coast from Palermo set up above the town in well tended gardens, with a delightful pool. Comfortable rooms (or at least once the Air conditioning was sorted out) with pleasant balcony views. Friendly and efficient staff .

It's a little hike into the world of old-Cefalu , with its many restaurants and shopping, and over 170 steps back up the hill to work off the calories. No problems for us with the shuttle bus, but the hotel beach wasn't very impressive, unlike the hotel itself with whizzy car parking doubling up as photovoltaic power generation.

Pity the town couldn't collect its trash more often, and be prepared to speak Italian - you can't presume that everyone will speak English. Likewise the range of Digital TV channels - all in Italian.

We found it easy to get about on the trains - which run along the coast - and enjoyed the weekly market behind the massive rocky outcrop which defines the town. No problems either with the local supermarkets/street stalls for excellent fruit / veg / food for picnics.

An amazing hotel - which has led us to pen our first ever TA review!

We were recommended by a friend who had stayed at the hotel a couple of years ago. We booked 5 nights at the hotel and have just extended our stay by another 8 nights and cancelled the next hotel (incurring charge) as it is just so wonderful here!!

The hotel is set in beautiful gardens with amazing views out to sea and a tranquil setting for the pool. It is a ten minute walk in to the pretty town of Cefalu, good for walking off the pizza and pasta!

From the receptionists to the bar men to the grounds keeper everyone is welcoming, friendly and attentive.

The photos do not do this place justice.

Recommended to all!!!

Oh and did we mention the sunsets.....

Could go on but the pool is calling!!

Tucked away in its own luxuriant garden at the back of Cefalu, this hotel was comfortable and modern. The main feature is an outdoor pool shaded by mature trees. The beach and old town are served by a navette or accessible in about 20 minutes walk.

This is a delightful boutique hotel, set in a garden and with good views.

We found the staff to be attentive and helpful with English widely spoken. The rooms were clean and comfortable although we found the bed to be too firm. However, we mentioned this at reception and a soft mattress topper was provided which resolved the issue.

Breakfast was taken on the terrace and the buffet provided a mouth watering selection of local delicacies and a supply of fresh oranges to feed into the orange juice machine. On the two occasions we dined in the evening we found the dining room to be comfortable, stylish and uncrowded with a small but well chosen menu. The fish was particularly well cooked.

The hotel is not in the centre of town but the edge of town position offers a quiet setting and good, long views. There is a minibus service into town and sufficient parking for cars (the hotel was full while we were there and we always managed to park without problems).

The bar service was first class and a selection of nibbles (including some excellent olives) were provided free of charge to accompany the drinks.

We had the feeling that all aspects of the design had received careful consideration leading to a well thought out, comfortable and attractive hotel. We'd be delighted to stay there again.

My marking of five stars is given against other hotels at the same price point.

We had a very enjoyable stay here. The hotel is set in lovely grounds and the staff are charming and helpful. We did not use the pool much but it was attractive and clean . The room was spotless although the bathroom needed updating.
The toiletries are basic and would suggest taking your own. We would also take our own beach towels if we returned as they were very tatty and unavailable on one day.
We had an initial problem with the shuttle bus which ran about 15 minutes earlier than advertised. The last shuttle from the beach was at 4.45 which was too early. We were happy to walk downhill into town but did rely on the shuttle or taxis to get back to the hotel. The taxi fare was €10.

Room Tip: We had a balcony above the restaurant which was in the early evening sun. It was lovely but might be...
