“A nice hotel with good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

A nice hotel and a good location near the beach. After having dinner in the centre you had a healthy walk back to the hotel. The reception staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean. The only complaint we had was the breakfast and specially the egg-and-bacon-table. Either there was only fried eggs or only bacon, in three mornings we had to ask for them, seemed just somehow as the staff had forgotten to bring them to the servingroom. Overall a good stay.

Stayed at TOURIST from 18/10 to 22/10....only wish it could have been much longer!
Staff are polite and friendly , and always ready to help with a smile.
Our room (102) was a lovely sea view , with beach just across the road.Plenty of space
and storage , flat screen tv , minibar , lovely bathroom with bath and shower and most
importantly , a comfy bed!
This hotel is in a quiet part of Cefalu , but a short stroll gets you to main town in approx
10-15 minutes.
The pool area was peaceful and quiet with plenty of sun beds – however can appreciate
It would be much livelier during the summer months.
We had no complaints about the buffet breakfast – there was something there for all
tastes ...especially liked the fresh pastries & croissants.(If you want your bacon and eggs
cooked just as you like it – stay at home and do it yourself)
I cannot comment on lunch/dinner as we were only on B & B basis
This was our 3rd trip to Cefalu and certainly won’t be our last...our favourite restaurants
are Da Nino’s and Lilies Club , for simple and delicious Sicilian food.
We hope to return to the Hotel Tourist next year .

The location was good, the pool excellent. The room was good but a bit faded and jaded. Breakfast was not very good, why is it not possible to provide fresh orange juice on a Mediterranean Island, and why oh why attempt bacon fried eggs and sausages!

Room Tip: Check the meaning of "superior room"!

We has a two-week holiday in this location, and it was worth all that money we payed for half-board holiday. The hotel is just on the sea front across the Lungomare, and only a few minutes' walk to the centre of Cefalu.Everything was clean, the furniture was basic, but again the room was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. One of the best things during our stay were the evening meals, delicious indeed. And once a week they had a fish night, buffee with all kinds of fish dishes, and once a week a gala night with roses and candle lights, the meals served. The view from the balcony was towards the pool, again clean with not too many people hanging around, and partly towards the seafront.

Room Tip: Higher floor, towards the pool

We stayed for one week with my wife, in September last year, and we are coming back again this year in September for two weeks. The hotel offers more than any other hotel in Cefalu area. Private beach, sea view rooms, good food , large swimming pool and a very friendly personnel. Starting from Daniella at the reception to Pindaro in the swimming pool, are all very friendly and helpful. I remember I wanted to see an opera at the famous teatro massimo in Palermo and I ordered the tickets through internet by the help of the staff. A true Sicilian hospitality!

We had room 101, two single beds but with sea facing balcony and a side window opening to a view of the town. Beds are in a strange configuration to fit the room, it worked for us.
The room was small, a little tired, cleanliness OK. Unlike some other reviewers we liked the buffet breakfast. A wide range from fruit to cold cuts and some hot food. Coffee was from a machine and remarkably good (Try the cappuccino with an extra expresso).
The pool and beach were good and we were very pleased with our experience.
But we were at the end of low season. When the prices almost double for the summer we would probably look elsewhere.
On the balcony were a family of swifts in their mud nests, great to watch them feeding their young and the flight acrobatics, although very messy from the poo. We loved it, others may not.

As many have said earlier, this hotel locates in beach road and there's about 15 minutes walking to old city. The hotel and rooms were generally clean but the balcony was full of dust (maybe it's impossible to keep them clean). I think the breakfast was good in Italian standards; there were fresh fruits, some cereals, yoghurt, bacon etc. We had also dinners at the hotel and the food was ok and sometimes even great.
The rooms that overlook to old town have an empty field front of them. Unfortunately someone was burning something on this field almost every single day and the smell of smoke came to rooms as well. There was also a bit musty odor in the bathroom but otherwise it was clean and spacious.
There is supermarket nearby (maybe 400m) from the hotel and there's small fridge in the room.

By the way, if you want to walk up to Rocca, don't believe stories that it's very hard to do or takes more than an hour to go there. We walked normal pace, stopped to read all the signs and information decks, took lots of pictures on the way there, and still it took just an hour from the hotel to the top of Rocca and it wasn't too heavy at all.

Room Tip: If you don't want to pay extra for the full sea view, try to get room from the pool side.
