“Wonderful hotel in lovely Cefalu”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2011

We stayed at this hotel for four nights at the end of our two week tour of Sicily. Cefalu itself is a lovely place to visit. It has a long promenade to stroll along with a wonderful old town with little winding streets. This hotel is a 10 minute walk along the promenade to the main town. It is a very modern hotel and has friendly staff and good facilities. The food in the restaurant is very good and there is a weekly Garden Dinner by the pool and a weekly Sicilian buffet night. Both of these dinners include free wine. There is a beach club with free sun beds and parasols. It also has lunch snacks and a bar. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting excellent facilities in a good location.

We stayed there for a night while we visited Cefalù, which is quaint but quite crowded or at lest that was my impression at the time we went there. The hotel is, or at least looks, brand new and it's not too different from the hotels that have been (legally or not) built around the Mediterranean in the last years. Once inside it is very clean and well-appointed, although it was pretty empty and it even took some time for the desk staff to show up! Nevertheless, they were nice and polite and we were given a quad room which was perfectly OK, nothing special though: big enough to fit four individual beds, a balcony and a well-appointed and spacious bathroom.

That said, the hotel kept giving us the impression of being a ghost building as you didn't really see anyone around. Breakfast next day was decent, too, quite similar to the ones we had in the rest of Sicily (breakfasts have been one of the very few disappointing features of our trip), and again we were almost alone.

The hotel has a quirky pool with comfortable chaises around, and it's located smack in front of the beach. The town is within a 10-minute walking distance.

So, to sum up, I'm giving it three stars which is "good" by my standards. It's a pity Tripadvisor doesn't give users the opportunity to rate hotels as simply "good", maybe that option should be included as well since I'm sure may of us have stumbled into place which are not simply "average", but which cannot be considered "very good" either.

Recommended.

Location and clean, modern style make this my favorite hotel in Cefalu. The hotel is located across the street from the beach and is just a 10-minute walk from the historic center of Cefalu. The property is fairly new, so everything is very clean and bright. The service is outstanding, and every staff member I came in contact with spoke English. The pool area was never crowded and was very relaxing.

Thanks to all the staff at the cefalu sea palace for making our stay so very enjoyable, I would like to give a special thank you to Simon for looking after our every need,This hotel is one of the best we have had the pleasure of staying at, great rooms, fantastic views, Exeptionaly attentive staff,Nothing was too much trouble and always with a smile, The town of Cefalu is a beutiful place, and only a 10min meander along the sea front, A holiday we will never forget, And one we will certainly repeat again, Hopefully next year.

Stayed here for 7 nights in June. Free pick up from Palermo airport, which you need as its about 1hours drive from there. Staff are friendly.
Our room (garden view) was lovely. Great size and big bathroom, has a safe too.
Our balcony overlooked, the side of the hotel, a carpark and a bit of sea. We didnt mind the carpark view though, as you were diverted away from that by the sea.
Room has a reasonably priced mini bar, but it isnt very well stocked at all.
Pool area is great, plenty of beds, clean and a good pool.
Bar is good, good drinks menu, very friendly bar staff. Great cocktails and good prices. and you always get free snacks.
Restaurant is pretty good, nice fresh food.
Breakfast has a large choice.
As mentioned no you are not allowed to take food or drink from outside the hotel into your rooms, this is for hygiend reasons apparently. but wasnt an issue for us.
Only used the private beach once, its very nice. only a few minutes walk to Cefalu centre which is a very nice town with lots of great restaurants and things to see and do.

Cefalu Sea Palace is an 8 minute walk from the old town along the beach. It is a clean modern hotel with a fabulous breakfast (all the bells and whistles are provided). The modern rooms are well furnished with balconies, many overlooking the sea. Everything is clean and well cared for and the beds are amazing; the best matress we have ever slept on. We would have taken it home if we could have. The people at the desk are friendly and helpful and they have a public computer with free internet access. This is a large hotel modestly priced and very well run. A better hotel than you often find in seaside resorts.

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcony facing the sea.

We stayed here HB for a week for our Honeymoon and cannot fault hotel and staff - every area of this hotel is immaculate and the service is great. We had lovely sea view (paid extra) with a large balcony furnished with wicker furniture. No detail on the furnishings has been overlooked in any part of the hotel. The location is brilliant with just a walk over the road to the private beach which is also sandy and clean. The hotel also provides beach towels at no cost (unfortunately we were not told this and found out a couple of days into our stay from others staying). The pool is also extremely clean with added jacuzzi and although cold at first was warm enough to swim in. The hotel offers free internet use although this is limited to one laptop on reception.

The only niggle we had was that there was not enough choice on the evening menu and as a vegetarian quite often there is a 'fish dish' option but no dishes offered without meat or fish entirely (and quite often the fish is served 'whole'). Similarly the Appetisers/Starters were often meat only dishes. Whilst they are able to offer you something if you request an alternative this is normally limited to pasta with sauce or omelette and omelette is often on the menu so not always providing the variety you would like. However the food was fresh, well cooked and beautifully served. Breakfast was good with a choice of fruit, cereals, bread, cheeses, eggs, ham, bacon, sausages and other condiments and selection of coffee, tea and juices. No complaints here :)

Overall we had a fantastic stay and would definitely come here again (we would also bring our new family addition due in October) and would highly recommend this to friends and family. Cefalu itself is a gorgeous town which is not too overly populated by tourists and so has a really 'authentic' feel to it despite our invasion. Be lovely if they can keep it this way.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view and high floor
