We booked the accomodation here after the reviews on TripAdvisor from previous guests.
A degree of trepidation re booking on that basis was removed as soon as we arrived and saw what a wonderful location we were in. The Borgo is high on a hill and has views all around and is stunningly quiet and peaceful. We were shown to our Casa Dario room by Luigi which was great for our family of five. The apartment had two bedrooms, one of which had two bunks, and we used the sofa bed in the lounge for our third child. Three bathrooms, a smallish kitchen, lounge and dining rounded out the apartment. There was a lovely table and chairs outside the kitchen for dining when desired. Everything was immaculately clean and all furnishings etc were modern and well kept.
The staff at the Borgo were extremely friendly, and helped us out with recommending and booking local dining options. They also organised and staged a wine and olive oil tasting of the products produced at the farmlet which was informative and well run.
Castellina in Chianti is less than five minutes drive from the Borgo and is a lovely little town. The location couldn't have been more perfect, being right in the middle of many great villages, and Siena is only about 20 minutes drive from there. As per an earlier post, make sure you eat plenty of gelato in Castellina...it really was the best we tasted in Italy.
We stayed when the weather was very hot and this made sleeping at nights difficult as there were no fans.
The pool was excellent although it was a small walk from our apartment. Nice and relaxing after visiting the area in the heat.
We had a fantastic week here and would recommend to anyone looking for accomodation in the country, while being close to the town for the gelato fix!
The restaurant at the bottom of the drive was also well worth visiting and we did so a couple of times.

We *LOVED* Borgo di Pietrafitta. Stay there. Seriously, stop looking, and book it right now. The views of the surrounding Tuscan hills were spectacular. Everywhere you looked, it was picture perfect scenery. The nearby town of Castellina in Chianti (4km) was adorable and had the best gelato we had in Italy (and, trust me, we ate a LOT of gelato). Also, we ate at Tre Porte restaurant in Castellina (another great recommendation) where we had one of our best meals in Italy. The Pietrafitta Restaurant at the bottom of the hill was delicious and quaint. Roberto and Lorenzo provided us with tons of advice, restaurant recommendations and reservations, and directions for each town we visited during the day. Lorenzo recommended a wine tasting at Poggio Antinora on our last day, which was awesome! They were so helpful, and all of their recommendations were great!! The grounds and infinity pool were stunning. We stayed at the Borgo di Pietrafitta for 3 nights (4 days), and we wished we had booked it for longer. The apartments are built in old stone buildings from hundreds of years ago that were made into resort apartments in the 90s. Our apartment had a huge bedroom with a super comfy king size bed, desk, and armoire; a large bathroom with spotless shower. sink, toilet, bidet, washing machine, plenty of plush towels and a stunning view out the window; a modern kitchen with fridge, stove, sink, oven, microwave, cabinets (stocked with dishware, silverware, kitchen linens, and cookware), a dining table, and large stone fireplace; and an upstairs living room with pull out couch and tv. The apartment was spotlessly clean and was the perfect mix of rustic charm and modern amenities. We stayed in the "small" sized apartment which is categorized for 2 people, but it was huge, and the property offers several size options for larger groups -- we saw several whole families and groups staying while we were there. If we ever go back to Italy, we will stay here and do day trips everywhere else. It was heaven.

My family of 5 (3 teenagers) stayed in June 2008. We had the Casa Davio #4 apartment - it had 2 bedrooms and 2 very nice baths. The pool is fantastic and the people were delightful. It is perfect for families - we met some very nice ones. Castellina in Chianti is a charming town with several nice restaurants so the apartments were great as a home base. Also, the staff gave us some excellent recommendations for dinner and sight seeing. All around, the experience was wonderful.

We stayed here for 5 nights during our honeymoon on the "honeymoon package" they offered on their website. We had an amazing stay. i would echo everything that people have said already about this place. Luigi was great - we were upgraded to the tower suite - which is a seperate building with a tower - the tower itself has 2 seperate sleeping areas - which we didnt use of course (as there were 2 bedrooms and bathroom on the main floor) but this would be perfect for kids to stay in - and we went up there to look at daily as it was so quaint - and the views from the windows were incredible. We didnt know exactly what to do during our stay when we arrived, but Luigi spent an hour gave us great advice on restaurants, booked us for a wine tour and dinner as part of our package, and we had wine and olive oil in our room when we arrived. We ate out for the first 3 nights, then were invited over for dinner by people we met at the pool one night (!!) and finally made pasta ourselves the last night - and the only thing i regret was that given how amazing the pasta was - we bought freshly made pesto and tomatoe sauce and pasta from the local grocery store - we should have stayed in every night!!! (that and i didnt have to gelato in castellina which i have read on this site since i have been back was to die for). They have an infinity pool which is beautiful, we took a drink down and sat and looked at the view (and swam) - the view was really just like in the movies. They didnt have a hairdrier - which was my only complaint about the whole trip here. Also - I would REALLY advise renting a car with GPS to get around Chianti. Worth every penny. Would absolutely stay here again.

My husband and I were in Italy in mid-May. We had research Pietrafitta prior to arriving however we had booked elsewhere. Once in Castellina, we stopped by and fell in love with it and fortunately for us, they had availability so we changed our plans, switched inns and stayed for the remainder of our vacation.

Luigi and Vera were wonderful hosts. Your every need is accommodated here. They help you with everything and offer great suggestions for wine tastings, restaurants, sightseeing, etc. It is perfectly located and a short drive to all the great nearby towns in the Chianti region, as well as Siena, Florence, Pisa, etc.

They also held a wine tasting on-site for all guests while we were there. It was great to taste their wines (and great olive oil).

While the apartments did indeed offer every creature comfort, the only thing it lacked was a hairdryer...everything else was there, even a washing machine which is key when you are traveling abroad for a peroide of time. We loved the kitchen and enjoyed cooking our meals with local produce and fresh made pasta from Radda.

We will be sure to return next year when we go back!

PS-Be sure to go to Ristoro di Lamole and the incredible gelato shop in Castellina in Chianti...it was great-we went each and every day!!!

Ciao!
