“Beautiful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

We stayed here on our last few days of our honeymoon in October 2012. It was fantastic. Our room was amazing (we booked the suite), it was clean and spacious with a real Tuscan farm house feel. The owners were friendly and the wine they produce is lush!It was a real treat to stay at this peaceful retreat, just a few minutes drive outside Castellina in Chianti. We are planning to go back again next year!

My aunt and I traveled through Italy, Turkey, & Greece last summer [summer 2010]. We spent two nights in Rome before we drove from Rome to Castellina In Chianti. We took the scenic route and stopped in Pienza for dinner. MOST BEAUTIFUL DRIVE OF MY LIFE!!! The beauty we saw from Rome to Castellina was absolutely exquisite. I cannot even begin to describe it to you.

Due to our scenic route we arrived at Fattoria Tregole nearing midnight. We felt horrible having to call Edith and tell her we would be arriving at that hour [that's one down-side to staying in a B&B, instead of a hotel]. We arrived and they were very friendly and their daughter showed us to our room. We were not aware that our room would not have air conditioning, but with the windows open and the fan going it was very comfortable [& I am VERY hot natured].

The next morning when we actually got to see the grounds in the daylight I realized how absolutely breath-taking they were. Edith's gardens and flowers are gorgeous and the infinity pool was fantastic. Our bathroom was very nice and clean. Plenty big. We only had one bug issue. Some sort of dragonfly got into our room one evening, but that's it.

Although we didn't get a change to eat at Fattoria Tregole due to our cramped schedule, I'm sure it would have been amazing as well.

I also fell in love with Castellina in Chianti. The town is so cute and perfect. Keep in mind that Fattoria Tregole is actually not in Castellina in Chianti, it's in a tiny suburb called Tregole. I posted a photo of the sign turn off. The drive to Castellina in Chianti is less than 5 min.

One negative comment I do have is about our second morning-
We were still both suffereing from jet-lag and accidentally slept until 11am. In a hotel that would have been no big deal, but we experienced something different. After apparently calling our room twice with no response, Edith came and loudly knocked on our door. We were still in our beds, in our pajamas, and had woken up just seconds before she entered our room. Although it was not a big deal, that was the only down side we experienced at this beautiful place.

We stayed in one of the villas at Fattoria Tregole and had a wonderful time! It was hard to find, especially as we arrived at night, but once we found the turn it was self explanatory. Even though we got there after 9, Edith had set aside dinner for us, which was a lovely welcome. We sat down to a 4 course meal which was delicious and light, and set the tone for all our meals there. We were not hurried to finish quickly either, even though we were there late. Edith provided directions and insider tips on many towns in the area. This made our stay far more relaxing, as there is so much to do and see. The villa itself was clean and airy, and had incredible views from the front porch. There was a very inviting pool, although we were there in late September, early October, so it wasn't warm enough to swim.

The staff were all extremely friendly, helpful and inviting. Breakfasts were fantastic continental breakfasts with meats, cheese, bread, cereal, fruit and cake! (YUM)The dinners were delicious, and the best we ate in Tuscany by far. It was all light, well balanced and more than enough, although we all squeezed in dessert even after saying we couldn't possibly fit it in. It was also a set menu which was nice not to have to decide. The wines were delicious and made on site. Edith changed the night she was going to cook (as she doesn't do it every night) after we told her we would prefer to eat her food. She was very accommodating and created a relaxed chatty atmosphere that spilled over to the guests.

I would definitely recommend people stay here and enjoy Tuscany and Edith's hospitality!!!

I can't say enough about this amazing B&B!!!! I'm already daydreaming of returning... Edith was the most gracious host and amazing chef (and her husband is an incredible wine maker). What a great experience my husband and I had here. Our room was perfect, very clean, roomy, quiet and cozy. They had some wonderful wines to try along with dinner at the B&B on Saturday night. The B&B is set in the country side of Chianti, with some breath taking views. Edith had some great recommendations on day trips and restaurants. The town of Castellina (maybe 5 mins away) is def worth a visit, very charming. Thank you for the best stop on our honeymoon. We are telling everyone of this B&B. We love it!!! Hope to return soon.

From the introduction to the departure, Tregole was by far the highlight of our two week trek through Italy. Edith, our hostess and owner of Fattoria Tregole went out of her way to help us plan our day's excursions from this perfect base in Tuscany. She would make reservations for dinner and draw us detailed maps of where to go and what to see. The B and B services couldn't have been any better. The facilities were excellent and very clean. It was perfect. If you have the opportunity to dine at Fattoria Tregole, do not pass it up. The food is tuscany at its best.
Thank you Edith, we will be back.

Staying here for three nights in late April 2012 was probably the highlight of our trip to Italy. This is an ideal base from which to explore the chianti region and the Tuscan towns of Siena and Florence.

The owner of this charming b n' b, Edith, went out of her way to make us reservations for restaurants and wine tasting. Fattoria Tregole also produces its own wines specializing in Chianti classico and we thought the wines here were among the better ones we enjoyed in Tuscany.

We also enjoyed dinner here two of the three nights we stayed and it was really lovely and great experience as well. The last night we were here, my wife and I took the cooking class. I was skeptical about spending so much time cooking - it is a vacation honey - but I am glad my wife convinced me to take it as it really was fun and we learned some things. We enjoyed the food we made with a very nice couple that was also staying here. The class is about three hours long but very hands-on and a very unique experience.

The rooms are pretty rustic but certainly nice. They are clean and nothing is wrong with them but not exactly the ritz or 5-star luxury. It is an agriturismo so what do you expect! Yet by Italian standards they are very nice and hopefully you won't be planning to spend all your time in your room anyways as there is so much beauty and places to explore in the surrounding vicinity. My wife is normally very picky but she had no problem with the room. We stayed in room 5 and I understand there are larger suites available as well. The wifi didn't have a strong signal in our room but was perfectly acceptable in common area. We came here to disconnect from devices and television anyway! One tip though: Honeymooners should probably opt for the larger, detached suites as these may afford more privacy (wink wink).

All in all, we had a wonderful stay here! The warmth of this place and its owners made us feel more like we were staying with friends or a family member in the heart of Tuscany. We hope to return here and would not hesitate to book again.

My wife and I spent 5 nights at Fattoria Tregole at the end of September. We stayed in the Number 1 Suite and to say it was spacious would be an understatement. The decor and furniture in the room not only offered ample storage space but also gave off a great feel of the Tuscany region. Coming back to your room after a day of sightseeing and wine tasting felt far more like coming back home than coming back to a hotel room. And alot of that is due to the great hospitality of Edith. She happily takes the time to answer any and all questions you may have, be it suggesting where to park on a trip to Florence or suggesting a wonderfully scenic route to get you to Montalcino or to suggest the best place to enjoy lunch in Siena. Additionally, a couple or so times a week Edith will prepare a great home cooked dinner which we can't recommend enough. All of the staff at Fattoria Tregole are just so helpful and wonderful. The inn is located about 7/10th's of a mile off the main road - just south of Castallina in Chianti. The views from all sides of the property are simply breathtaking, and there are plenty of chairs and places to lounge outside to take it all in - or to enjoy a wonderful bottle of the local wine. There is even a negative-edge swimming pool just a few steps from your room.

If you're looking for a 'Four Seasons' type of experience with room service - then this probably isn't the place for you. But I'd ask you - if you're going to Tuscany, why would you want to sit in your room to eat overpriced hotel food? Fattoria Tregole is perfectly and centrally located to give you easy access to so many of Italy's wonderful cities - we simply cannot recommend it enough.
