We just spent about four weeks in one of the agroturismo apartments operated by Palazzo Squarcialupi. It was heaven on earth, even though we only had four days without rain while we were there. By renting one of these lovely and roomy apartments, you get the benefits of the hotel with a lot more privacy and room to stretch out. The hotel staff are all delightful and helpful -- they made reservations for us and volunteered discount cards to us. We felt like part of the family by the time we left. We could also use the hotel spa and sit in the bar or sala and use their wifi, free of charge. I highly recommend staying here. You will need a car if you rent one of the apartments, because it's about 1 km to the village of Castellina. But you really ought to have a car anyway so you can drive to nearby towns and villages and experience the beauty of the Tuscan countryside, which is breathtakingly beautiful.

We recently travelled with Trek Travel and had the opportunity to spend two nights here. The hotel is spacious, beautiful, offers wifi and breakfast (no charge) and exceeded every expectation we had!

The view as you walk to the pool is breathtaking. The staff was fantastic and we will be back! Castellina is lovely, one of our favorite spots in Tuscany!

Room Tip: Choose a room closer to the office if you want a good wifi signal. The rooms that overlook the litt...

What a wonderful place to stay! Great rooms and impeccable service. There were five of us staying in three rooms, all great accommodations with great views of the countryside. The breakfast room also has great views. The people at the front desk were most helpful and were always extremely pleasant. We will try to stay there again in future trips to the area.

I just came back from Toscana traveling around with my elderly mother, and we just spent one night at this lovely hotel. Next time it will be longer.
The lady managing the hotel was truly helpful and caring. So excellent service, on top of this, perfect location where one side of the hotel is in the city and the other side on the countryside surely makes this our best experience.
SPA and Wi Fi included in the price also.
Do not miss it and the friendly owner/manager

We recently stayed here for 3 nights. You couldn't find a better location for a hotel! We stayed in the superior rooms which are well worth the extra €25 per night. The views are incomparable to anything I've ever seen. Very large rooms with sofas and a large entrance way. The 2 ladies on reception are so helpful, nothing is too much trouble. There is a terrace outside where you can have a glass of wine from the bar with the amazing views. Lots of restaurants nearby as the hotel is in a lovely pedestrian area. If going back to Castellina wouldn't hesitate to book here!

Room Tip: The standard rooms are a good size and a lovely room but the superior rooms have the views..

Stayed here with my husband for 5 nights. Perfect location for day trips to Tuscany, Florence & Siena. We fell in love with Castellina - it is a beautiful place. We were pleased with our room which had a limited view of the countryside. The bed was comfy and shower powerful. The only negative was that the room got very warm at night as the hotel had not turned on the a/c. The staff were lovely and really helpful. The breakfast was limited but nice. Overall great location and beautiful place.

The hotel is a grand building in the main street of the old town of Castellina. Vehicle access is limited; you need to park just outside the restricted area to pick up a permit from reception which entitles you to drive into the street at certain times to load and unload. There is private parking around the back which you will be directed to; there are a lot of steps up to the hotel from this!

Breakfast was the best we had on this trip, with a wide selection of bread, cakes, cold meat, cheese, fresh fruit and yogurt.

The spa is free to use, and towels are provided without charge. It was nice to have it to ourselves on a wet day!

Rooms at the back have rural views although apparently these are not available when booking through Booking.com because they are all superior rooms. Therefore despite expressing a preference for a rural view we had been allocated a front street view; however, they did manage to find us a smaller standard room at the rear with a partial rural view. To be fair, the front room was huge and included a sofa; however it was rather dark because of the low windows, and as we were staying for three nights we particularly wanted a rural outlook.

Room Tip: Rooms with rural views are at the rear; these are superior rooms and not available when booking via...
