We referred to this osteria by the owner of the property we stayed at in Poggibonsi and we were not disappointed. First of all there is ample outdoor seating most of which has at least some shielding from the brillant mid-day Tuscan sun. The menu offers a very nice variety of dishes which take local ingredients and presents them in an imaginative combination/attractive presentation, for example the eggplant pudding with mushroom, truffles and pecorino cheese fondue or the creamed vegetable stuffed crepes. I also found it nice that the selection has both seafood, pasta and meats dishes ... but it makes it more difficult to choose! I would be surprised if the wine list (as well as the grappas) does not offer ample selection to suit one's taste. The selection of 1/2 bottles also allows a couple to have a cool white wine with the prima piatta before enjoying a beautiful toscan red (Ruffino Riserva Ducale!) with the main. We had lunch so the osteria was not overflowing plus being able to start later (14:30) allowed us to enjoy our time having already completed our "to do" list for the day. We ate here twice and I will comment that the 2nd time the service was much friendlier - a young Romanian man who was very good with the children and engaging with my wife and I. The location is good in that the road right beside the restaurant is not busy as it is not a main road to Castellina nor are other attractions right next store plus the parking is opposite the osteria. The osteria is worth the short drive out of your way and dinning with children is not a problem.
