I visited the hotel with my partner through a KGB deal so the value was great.
In terms of Naples Bay the hotel is in a quite good location, with Pompeii, Vesuvius, Sorrento and Naples itself all easily accessible via the local trains. The complex itself is very nice, with a swimming pool, restaurant, bar and it was all in good shape. However, the area around the hotel definitely isn't the nicest - Castellamere Di Stabia didn't have a massive amount going on, and a hunt for a restaurant in the area for dinner on the first evening ended with a fair walk almost taking us to Pompeii. But if you're in the area, there's plenty easy enough to get to via a couple of stops on the train.
The food at the restaurant itself isn't half bad, there was a large group staying as well, but didn't impact on our service at all. The waiting staff were very nice and accommodating with allergies which is always a worry with my partner when travelling anywhere.
The train station is about a 10 minute walk away (at a fastish pace), and as I said before has great transport links. There's also a cable car there, but no idea where it goes as we didn't take it!
All in all, was great for visiting Pompeii and the surrounding area, but couldn't say I'd recommend Castelamere Di Stabia to anyone else... If you have the opportunity to go I wouldn't actively avoid the hotel, but there may be nicer areas elsewhere.
