“RACING HISTORY AT ITS BEST”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

This museum is well laid out albeit it was smaller than I expected. The merchandise in the shop was good quality but on the expensive side. We had a drinks reception followed by an excellent meal. We were joined by the drivers of the only Aston Martin to win the race. The only downside was that it rained heavily as we were leaving.

“Great Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

For only 7 euros it was a great look at the history of the race. Very well laid out. Unfortunately the Aston Martin owners were having a meet there too so the restaurant was closed to everyone else, but we walked into the town - 500 yds and ate in a great little bar instead

“Brescia - a city of pleasant surprises”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

We've stayed several times at the small towns around Lake Garda in Summer. March 2013 took me to Brescia. The wet snowfall outside was a reason good enough to be inside, and Brescia was full of surprises. Mille Miglia Museum is a must for people interested in old race cars. San Salvatore - Santa Giulia, old nunnery, that houses the City Museum, is registered in the Unesco World Heritage List. The area includes, e.g. remains of Roman dwelling decorated with pioeces on contemporary art.

“Not only for car buffs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

We visited the Museo Mille Miglia on a cold, overcast day. Neither of us has a particular interest in classic cars, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. We were very pleasantly surprised. The museum tells the history of a classic Italian car race of which we were surprised to learn that Stirling Moss was one of only three non Italian winners in the competition's history. The cars looked in good condition and were interesting to see, but the real treat was the actual layout of the exhibition and the quality of graphics and storyboarding which gave you a great insight into the spirit of the times and its place in history. More bizarrely there is a Beatles exhibition next door (didn't realise they were Italian!). Apart from some memorabilia and tacky painitngs of the Fab Four there were lyrics allegedly in John Lennon's own handwriting and some printed transcripts of radio shows, amended by hand (again, allegedly, one of the Fab Four). Bit weird and, I felt, this detracted from the main museum.
