We were looking for a good value hotel staying at Lake Garda in Italy.
We searched the Internet and found the Villagio Turistico Vo' which was recommended by the Italian Tourist Board.
When we arrived we checked in and were directed to our room. Firstly, half of the resort was across a busy road which we had to cross to get to our room.
When we entered the room we were shocked to find a very dated decor and furniture with tiny kitchen which had just two gas hobs. Further more the crockery was chipped and with essential items missing.
We decided that this was not 'the end of the world' and began to unpack. Our room had a patio area with only two chairs. I thought this was odd as we had booked for 4 people, so I took one from the unoccupied room next door. Later on in the holiday a cleaner asked us to return the chair to the other room, which we need, but asked were we could get another one from. She said that we could get one from the pool. The next day another member of staff told us to return the chair to the pool area as we were only allowed 2 chairs!! Well of course we were not happy with this and refused to return the chair.
That evening we went out for a meal and when we returned the chair had been moved back to the pool and it was now raining so all the chairs by the pool were soaking wet. I could not believe that these people could be so petty and inconsiderate especially as we were supposed to be guests on holiday.
In conclusion, the staff were rude and inconsiderate. The accomodation dated and poorly maintained, although it was clean. Also, the walls were extremely thin, and I was woken on two occasions by the baby crying next door. Finally, we never used the pool as it was over-crowded and noisy.
Luckily we had a great time whilst we were away from the (Hidey Hi Style) resort, and we would return to the area but definateley not to The Vilaggio Turistico Vo' resort.
