“Wonderful hotel, fabulous food and fantastic staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

Having just returned from a 2 week ski holiday to Bormio, I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

The rooms are immaculate, beautifully decorated and big (ours had a walk in wardrobe which was great for all my clothes!) and the food in the restaurant was like eating in a 5 star restaurant every night.

The family that run this hotel (thank you Samantha!) are there to help with every possible need you may have and the hotel is beautifully kept throughout.

My only concern is that both myself and my husband have put on a stone in weight since our stay!! The staff in the restaurant are so helpful and impossible to refuse with all the cheeses and desserts.

The hotel is centrally located and walking distance from anywhere you may wish to go.

We will definitely be going back to this fantastic hotel.

Upon arrival we were immediately made to feel welcome. We were offered a garage free of charge and were offered help with our luggage. The hotel is very authentic looking in its style and decor. Our room was fantastic ,with a huge balcony overlooking the front of the hotel. The shower was huge with twin modern basins ,all looked like new.A very comfy sitting room is on the ground floor. We ate at the hotel which was a set meal at 20 euros. Not really sure what we were getting but took it as it came.Well, after five courses of good home made food, there was no room for dessert!
While we were eating our beds were turned down, room illuminated and curtains and shutters closed for the night.
Breakfast was also in the price, and cooked eggs, bacon etc were also on the menu!
A definite must for any traveler staying in Bormio.

Magnificent old hotel that has modern rooms, good service and a great restaurant. It is also centrally located in Bormio with the shopping district a short stroll away and also the local Therme. The staff are always very helpful

We stayed at the Hotel San Lorenzo with our two teenagers. Our stay was excellent. We booked a superior room for the adults and a standard room for the kids. The rooms were just across the hall from each other. Each room was well decorated, clean, and very comfortable. The location is quiet without a lot of traffic noise. The superior room had a nice balcony to sit on and enjoy the views. They also have an awesome reading room that you can just relax in... No reading required.

The hotel is family run which is a nice change from the many corporate run hotels. It has a very low key and relaxing atmosphere. Samantha was a great host. She was very attentive to all our needs. She went with me to park my car in their hotel lot which is just a couple alleyways from the hotel, but you have to navigate some restricted and/or one way streets to get there. We had been on the road for several days and Samantha helped arrange to have all our laundry done at a reasonable price. Not to mention she picked it up and delivered it to our rooms. She also helped us learn some Italian and was just a pleasure to be around.

The breakfast was great. A wide selection of pastries, breads, yogurts, cereal, cookies, cold cuts, cheese and they make omelets on request. They will also make cappuccinos, lattes, or whatever coffees you would like.

The hotel is very centrally located with all the main shopping areas and restaurants within walking distance. The only negative aspect of our stay is that I wish we could have stayed longer in Bormio and at the Hotel San Lorenzo.

We stayed here for a week's skiing with some other families. The hotel staff were exceptionally attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We had great food every evening with plenty of variety. The rooms are spotless, warm and well appointed. The best skiing accommodation anyone in the four families had ever experienced. It was a wonderful holiday. It is about 10 minute walk to the bubble lift to get to Bormio 2000 which is really where all the skiing starts. You can leave your ski hire in the ski shop and so you don't need to walk in ski boots. Our advice would be use a ski hire place close to the bubble lift. Great family owned hotel with wonderful service.

Have just returned from a weeks ski trip. 4 families with a variety of children with ages ranging from 6 to 14. Hotel amazing, food out of this world, chef would do anything for the children. Service impeccable. Beautiful lounge for early evening drinks. Order eggs for breakfast. Rooms perfect with clean towels every day. Bormio is beautiful, great shopping for the ladies!

Skiing great for early intermediates, no queues at lifts and restaurant at bottom of the slopes good value. Stored our rented ski stuff at the shop near the bubble lift.

Old house in the middle of Bormio, a bit overloaded with wooden furniture (but that's taste), perfectly clean and well cured. Good breakfast (ask for scrambeled eggs, they do them with olive oil !) and excellent service.
