“Great place to stay for a ski holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2014

For a 3 star hotel this is really great.
The hotel is well run, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was fairly basic but clean, comfortable and had plenty of storage space; the bathroom was big with a powerful shower and loads of hot water, there's a hair dryer too. The public areas have wifi, are light and airey with comfy chairs and several card tables in the lounge, the bar is well stocked and serves hot drinks all day.
Breakfast was the usual continental buffet with juices, yogurt, fruit, cold meats and cheese, hard boiled eggs, cereals, croissants etc. Dinner menus were put out at breakfast for you to choose what you wanted that evening which saves waste. The 4 course dinner - salad buffet (excellent), followed by a choice of a pasta dish, soup or something else like risotto then a choice of a meat, fish or veggie dish and finishing with a dessert - usually a cake made in the hotel or ice cream, was good but did become a bit repetetive. However, there are several very good and very reasonable pizzerias just around the corner for a change.
There's a heated ski room in the basement and the free ski buses to the three ski areas stop right outside the hotel.
The hotel is Ideally located for a walk into the main street of this small town and is only 100m from the train station.
We would certainly go back there.

Given the cheapness of the inclusive deal, lack of reviews and dodgy brochure photos I didn't have high expectations for this hotel
Room was small and basic but clean and had a fresh coat of paint. Was short of plug points and shower curtain could do with being changed but acceptable. We had access to wifi though not strong.
Breakfast was a typical continental affair but enough choice and fresh croissants and cakes made it pleasant.
Packed lunch was 2 rolls, 1 cheese and a ham one both generously filled. Apple or orange. Cereal bar and a bottle of water.
Dinner started with a buffet which included pizza slices, salad, veg sides bread and some various antipasti. Followed by a choice of a pasta/risotto/soup. Then a fish/meat/veggie main. Followed by a couple of deserts. Food was always of a good standard with appealing choices. Service was fast and friendly.
The drinks package included red/white wine, beer, prosecco, irish cream, limoncello, vodka, gin, pop, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Decent wifi in the bar.
We hired skis from Rent and go, cheaper to arrange directly than to do it by Crystal. We also got a ski locker which was 28e but if we had realised how good the bus service was we wouldn't of bothered. Never waited more than 3 minutes for a bus and they are free. Ski passes are cheaper directly as well however for some strange reason you can't get a 6 day from the office on the slopes but need to go to the office around the corner from the hotel opposite the train station.

Stayed here for a weeks skiing. Very good location, 15 minute walk to campo smith ski area or hop on the free bus that stops right outside the hotel. Also free bus to jafferau ski area, both very frequent. Main Street is just around the corner and train station 2 min walk. Direct train to Turin for a day trip £24 return for 2 adults, frequent trains and plenty of seats takes approx 1 1\2 hr. Our room was fine, quite warm, clean with plenty of hot water and we had a balcony that became a sun trap in the afternoon with 2 chairs to enjoy this. Wi if was a bit hit and miss, great in our room for first 2 days then could not get online for the remainder of the week. Able to connect in the lounge area but sometimes had to ask reception to reboot router. As mentioned in another review the lounge sofas are rather tired but with free drinks from 5-10 pm for crystal and neilson guests it turned out to be a lovely social room. Breakfast is from 7-9.30 standard skiing hotel fayre. Dinner is from 7.30-9.00 pm, differs from other skiing hotels we have stayed in that you do sit at the same table each day but you don't share it with other guests. You chose your starter and main course at breakfast. Self serve buffet to begin which is varied and plentiful. Just a heads up if you are vegetarian some dishes that sound veggie aren't! I chose vegetable strudel one evening but it had ham in. The waiter did replace it but it was just with chopped cold boiled egg and sliced tomatoes. The starter one evening was mushroom soup but it was obviously made with meat stock as it had little bones in it, another main course was a variety of cheeses very tasty but a bit strange. Other evenings the veggie food was nice, omelette and cheese soufflé just expect the unexpected! Having said all that you won't go hungry, my non veggie husband ate very well. We would definitely return to this resort and this hotel.

Stayed here in March on a last minute ski package and really couldn't fault it.

The room was clean, warm and comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. The room wasn't enormous but we were only sleeping in it, so this wasn't too much of an issue.

The food was ace - and there was lots of it! I miss having four courses for dinner :(

The staff were super friendly and always made the effort with you.

I have fond memories of our trip and I'd recommend Bardonecchia as a good beginner/early intermediate resort.

I stayed at the Hotel Betulla the week of 18th March 2013 for one weeks skiing. I am a single woman travelling on her own. My bedroom was of a good size and all the facilities that I wanted. The staff were very friendly. The food was of good quality and plenty of it. The hotel was very central just over the road from the Railway station - which I used to go to Turin for the day and for the town centre. The ski bus stopped right outside the hotel so was convienient for the slopes. Overall an excellent stay. I met fellow skiers and after our evening meal we would talk about our day on the slopes in the generous reception area with loungable sofas'.
A relaxed hotel with staff who would go out of there way to help you in any way.

Room Tip: Room 201 was a large single room - which was very quite - one window which could be opened if needed...

My partner & I spent a week here as part of a Neilson snowboarding package in February. We could not really fault anything about this hotel. The rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels / bedding. The rooms were always warm which helped dry our kit every night & they were quite spacious with plenty of cupborad / draw space. The bathroom had a shower which always had plenty hot water & there was a hair dryer. We had a room on the front of the hotel so we had a balcony which was also useful for drying any washing when the sun was out.
All of the staff were really friendly, always had a smile & worked really hard. There is quite a big bar area for people to drink, read or socialise & the drinks had reasonable prices.
For breakfat there was always a good choice of food & drinks & the evening 4 course meal was always great. The first course was a selection of starters layed out like a buffet, the 2nd course was a pasta or risotto dish (a choice of 3), the 3rd course was a meat, fish or vegetarian dish (again choice of 3) followed by a choice of pudding. Always plenty of food which was great after a day on the slopes.
During the winter months there is a free bus service which takes you to the different slopes & the bus stop is right outside the hotel which is really handy. It is only a 10-15 minute walk to Campo smith if you want the exercise.
The transfrer from Turin airport was approximately 1hour - 1 1/2 hours.
We would definately recommend this hotel to others & we would go back there again :o)

Room Tip: We had a room on the front of the hotel with a balcony overlooking trees / mountains which was lovel...
