“Amazing Location, Nice Hotel...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

We checked in without any problem.

The room was a Twin with a Balcony, nicely decorated. The room was a "for women" package and came with lots of nice toiletry touches in the bathroom. The Shower was a Double width Unit with Spa Nozzles and a Shower.
The room had plenty of storage, room safe, LCD TV and a large balcony with plastic table and chairs. If the trees had not been in full leaf we would have had an amazing Lake View. (Room 342). Very good quality bedding and Mattress Toppers, the beds were extremely comfortable.
(The hotel is also very quiet, or it was during our stay. A Pleasant Surprise)

The Indoor Pool was lovely; as was the SPA area, with Steam Room, Sauna, Hot Stone Loungers, Showers, Relaxation Area & Foot Baths. The Jacuzzi was not working.

The outdoor pool area is very nice, however I can imagine in hot weather is very busy. The Hotel is only feet from the Lake Edge and there is a beautiful short walk around the edge into the centre of Bardolino.

The hotel serves afternoon Tea & Coffee in the Terrace area which is free for guests and a very nice touch.

This is a nice hotel, but is starting to look a little tired around the edges. We also found the staff and service to be a little wanting... I bought a bottle of Champagne for my wife and I and we were not even offered nibbles as an accompaniment, I mentioned this at reception while also complaining about the Spa service (Next Paragraph) and within minutes, crisps and nibbles had appeared... Why was it necessary to complain? The barman looked completely disinterested.

My wife and I tried to book a Whole Day Spa package from their Spa menu at close on 200Euros each.. The Spa receptionist said she needed to check with another hotel before she would agree it and promised to notify reception with a message. We were out all the next day and when I went to reception over 24hrs later, nobody knew anything about it! Terrible Service!

Breakfast is Typical European Buffet and has a large selection, the breakfast room is very busy and did not appear to be air conditioned as was very uncomfortable.

Yet again.. It must be an Italy thing? The Hotel offers free WiFi, but it is only available between 16.30 & 20.30hrs??? This is ridiculous, it is a 3rd party supply and yet again needs username & password to log in, every single time you try to access it.. this is SO frustrating!!! When are hotels going to join the 21st Century?

A Beautiful Location... I Would visit again, if the price was right!

Room Tip: Get to afternoon Tea at 4 o'clock on the Dot! It's popular!!!!

Nice hotel in a good location, friendly staff, the food was fairly good and there was a certain generosity in that their were no charges for the use of room safe or umbrella loan. (only a returnable deposit charged).

Weather was appalling on a couple of nights both cold and wet. The hotel insisted that as it was "Summer" the only bar open was the outside bar adjacent to the swimming pool. As the weather was too poor even to go into Bardolino the guests sat around the pool bar in coats. On the Thursday night the entertainer was literally drowned out by the sound of the rain, thunder and lightening. The hotel conceded on Friday night and opened the indoor piano bar this was much more pleasant just a pity it was not done earlier..

Although the weather was as it has been in England, exceptionally non seasonal, that didn’t stop us getting out and about. Hotel has all the facilities that you need and is very well located for bus trips and boats trip. Also to walk into Bardolino either along the boardwalk or through pretty streets was nice.
Very helpful reception staff. Bar could have benefited from a couple of extra staff at times but generally good service with large measures of spirits.
Breakfast and dinner - as in any help yourself hotel, but breakfast did get cleared away promptly. If you were down after 9.00 they were already downsizing on the cold meats and pastries.
Lovely room, paid extra for privilege room but great view of lake and worth the extra with soft drinks included and welcome bottle of bubbly. (Plus one extra bottle during stay!) Very clean and kept well serviced.
Would definitely return here.

We stayed here for a long weekend for my 30 th and had a lovely time we were upgraded free of charge on arrival which was lovely and received complementary champagne and chocolates. The hotel is close to the town and very clean with friendly staff. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choices and I thought the afternoon tea was a nice touch at no extra cost. I would definitely stay here again.

Just back from a week's holiday at Parc Gritti. Could not fault hotel or location, thoroughly enjoyable. We had a refurbished room with balcony. Great service both in restaurants and room cleanliness. Very spacious grounds and spacious hotel with excellent facilities. We will definitely return. Four couples, three of whom had been going there for 20 years, one couple for 15 years. That says it all, Well done Parc Gritti and we have joined the Parc Gritti Loyalty Club.

I stayed at the hotel with my mother and my friend also stayed at this hotel with her mother. Firstly I would not recommend you go here if you are british. We had an upgraded room of an extra 12 euros per night, this is defiantely not worth the money it was poor quality, the only staff member that was polite was a bar man. The food was average. During our stay my mother took a shower and as there was no bath mat she slipped and hit her head. The pull alarm was tied up so that you could not reach and it was lucky that I had heard the thump. I called my friend as she is a nurse and we put mum to bed. She had the most enomous bruise and after going to reception to complain about the bath mat and the alarm the manager came and spoke to us and he was extremely rude and not at all bothered. He said she should go to hospital to make any such complaint. I tried to see if the hotel would waiver the upgrade cost as this caused my mother to not be able to do anything for a couple of days after the accident but they were not having any of it. My friend mother was also in a queue for some tea in the afternoon and the foreigners just push in and are not bothered that there is a queue. I would never go back to this hotel even though it is in a good location. I also think the mamanger needs to look at treating customers fairly. After going to the Capodimonte in Sorento on previous holidays this does not compare!

Room Tip: Dont go - Full stop

Dear Katy,

we're sorry for what happened to your mother. We would like to apologize for that. We thank you for your review which helps us improve our service. We would also like to say that our hotel welcomes guests from all over the world: because of our geographic location, many of them are German, but, of course, we welcome travellers regardless of their provenance. Kind regards.

Returned to this hotel after seventeen years before booking we did think about staying somewhere else but this just ticks all the boxes
We like a stress free holiday and do all our research before booking who wants to come back from holiday and just write bad reviews you holiday is spoilt
I booked direct with the hotel’s central booking and they also arranged for a Taxi to meet us at the airport and return
We were so pleased to upgrade to one of the newer rooms prior to booking and enjoyed the free water and soft drinks tea and coffee making and walk in shower ect
we had the afternoon tea when we were around the hotel and also had the free use of the computers in the lobby
You would be lucky to find all the above features on Hotels higher on the list
If you want to explore the Lake the timetable can be confusing as this is a big Lake and you have to get your act together
Some trips we went one way on the bus and back by the boat but most of the time we used the boats and this Hotel is well situated for both the boats and buses
We booked half board and I have read other reviews who had problems but we had no problems as the menu’s were out in the morning we could plan what we had for lunch and eat accordingly in the hotel for the evening or you can have Lunch in the Hotel and try the restaurants in the town which was only a short stroll away, However the price for the half board was reasonable
When dealing with reception all our small problems were resolved and always found them to be polite and efficient and plenty of knowledge of the area
our room on the second floor was left spotless and faced the courtyard peaceful at night

On the days we used the pool no problem ingetting a sun bed

So to sum up we are thinking of returning next year that is the best recommendation I can give

Room Tip: room that has the sun in the evening
