“The gourmet Italian nonna you never had!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

Truly, and this is a family you want to know. The food is incredible, made with love, and very high quality. Not your average alimentari or rosticceria by any stretch - this is a gastronomia, folks, and your tastebuds and tummy will thank you for spending just a little bit more to eat dishes far above average. We've taken home almost everything behind their counter, and it has all been excellent, fresh, made on site, and chosen with expert guidance from the owner. Have never eaten in the upstairs saletta as we live just around the block. Don't miss the wine selection (very fairly priced - I recommend the Occhini), or the local (some very local) meat and cheese - sliced while you wait - around the corner in the next room.

“Gastronomia Il Cervo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

The wife, myself and our three young children went to this restaurant for lunch. The service was excellent. The waitress was happy to offer my children dishes off the menu to accommodate their palettes and my veal was good as I have had!

Worth going to and good value

“Go here for dinner - great experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

My husband and I ate here for dinner. We'll definitely come back next time we are near Arezzo. The man behind the antipasto counter down the bottom of the establishment couldn't have been more helpful. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and we couldn't fault any of the food. My husband had the 1kg fiorentina steak - pricey but worth every mouthful. Best white and red house wine we have had whilst travelling around. We will be back!

“Unpretentious & central interesting place and good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012

We enjoyed a very pleasant lunch in the upstairs dining room with view into the street below. There are a choice of two rooms - the other one had aircon but we preferred the fresh air even on a very hot day the room was comfortable. You can choose dishes from the counter on the ground floor or as we did from the menu.
The mixed house antipasto (€10) was very good and ample for 3. We each had different pasta dishes ( all pasta made in house) and all were very good too. The service was friendly and attentive.
Well worth a visit!

“Dining Upstairs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2012

We found another new place in Arezzo for dinner. (We knew there had to be more than 4 places.) :)

Trip Advisor took us to this place on the Pzza. San Francesco. It looks like a deli from the outside (and even when you walk in), but you have to go to the back to see that there are stairs leading to a dining room. They typically open their restaurant for Friday and Saturday evenings, but they extended it to us on a Wednesday. Very accomodation. Thanks!

It was a great experience sitting upstairs with a view looking out onto the piazza; watching the people come and go outside. The balcony doors were open so it made for terrific ambiance.

We first, as always, ordered our house wine. They serve a good one, too!

They have an extensive and varied menu. It takes a while to get through it, but they offer loads of good stuff.... lots of veal. I ordered the veal filet and french fries. It was fantastic. Very tender and tasty, although perhaps a bit too much evoo on the plate. The frnech fries rocked too. Crispy and tender. My other half ordered the tagliatta di vitello and it was a little undercooked for this liking... really red.... but more disappointingly, very grissle-y. He had a hard time cutting pieces from it. Although, he did say it had a great flavor. He also had french fries. For dessert I had a chocolate torte with vin santo. They were excellent. My partner had the biscotti and vin santo which he gobbled up in no time.

The service here was excellent. Our server was very polite and took good care of us. I would definately go back here.

Thanks for the tip, TA!

Ciao.
