“Absolutely fantastic stay, the hosts were the best you could ever ask for.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012 via mobile

We stayed at tra i frutti for 10 days on our honeymoon. Giuseppe & Paula helped direct us to the b&b and offered to find us when we got lost! We were welcomed with fresh juice and a lovely atmosphere. The b&b is clean and a delight to stay in. The animals were very well behaved and friendly. We took our 16 month old son and a travel cot was provided as well as fresh whole milk for his arrival. Something I worried about finding! It was all sorted to get us on our way. We stayed a night in Taormina and Giuseppe & Paula booked a top of the class b&b for us and printed all instructions for the journey (they even lent us their travel cot).
Giuseppe & Paula welcomed us into their home and treated us like family. The pool is very nice to use with sun loungers for tanning!. The vine yards were fantastic to walk around at sun set. The views at breakfast were amazing and the breakfast was fantastic. They cater for all needs and fill you til your stuffed! You could also pick your own fruit any time of the day which tasted delishiuos.
I would recommend anyone to stay at this b&b. You need a car for travel but there are local restaurants and a few super markets for all your needs. The beaches are definitely worth a drive and Giuseppe and Paula provide you with maps and books to find your way.
We thank Giuseppe & Paula for a wonderful honeymoon stay, was worth every penny.

Staying in b&bs in Sicily you get spoilt with nice b&bs and friendly people. It takes something special to push the boundary and make it extra special. Our stay here was in the extra special category. Not for the room or the location - but for the warmth and genuineness of the hosts. They have an in depth knowledge of the area, helped us plan our trip around the area, showed us maps, gave directions, provided ideas on where to go and the best breakfast in Sicily. There really isn't a lot more we could ask for. By far the best b&b we stayed at in Sicily.

I believe in TA and I'm grateful to everybody who review because without I should had some problems. I think the experiences are different from one person to another but bad service is bad service for everybody.
My opinion about "Tra i frutti" is not good. We stayed one week and for some reasons we slept in almost the rooms they have. All the rooms need a renovation: one for the air condition that is so noisy, impossible to sleep; another because the beds, too soft that you collapse inside. Some rooms don't have air condition. All the room are without wardrobe, for one or two nights could be ok but if you travel with children and stay for one week, you need to unpacked the cases.
The breakfast is nice but not what we expected from B&B. They serve a traditional Sicily pastry that is too sweet and not indicated for breakfast. If you ask, you can also have cornflakes, yogurt and bread with jam. But you have to ask…
The little swimming pool is dirty and if you have children there are some obstacle around the swimming pool very dangerous!
The hosts are friendly and helpful but I think this is not enough. A good host need more than a nice smile.

We are travelers, we have a certain travels experience. We love to plan our trips reading previous reviews. We think that a review is credible when it is consistency with the other ones, when it is motivated by sharing true experiences or by helping people to plan a trip or by enhancing inn’s keeper to improve.

A review full of lies and motivated by venting negative feelings and by self-enhancement, it’s a bad and an unreliable review. A sarcastic review is a bad review. A review not written by honest persons, not in a transparent, polite and friendly manner is an unreliable review.

We are sorry to recognize, Mrs FeFly, that your review surprised us. Your review is inaccurate, it doesn’t say the true several times; it is not consistency with the other 104 review, it is not consistency with the Tripadvisor Excellence Certificate 2012 that B&B Tra I Frutti got and exposed during your stay

This review don’t say the true, several times.

-“Some rooms don't have air condition “
False. All the rooms are equipped with air conditioning since 2007( date of the starting up). So the Lemon room, (the one in which we accommodated your family ) has its silent air conditioner, but you took a picture, hiding that, and titling “No air-co…”
B&B Tra I Frutti got from the Tourism Authority the 3 stars classification, the maximum for a B&B . To get it every B&B must have air conditioning in every rooms .

In 2012 B&B Tra I Frutti has bought new air conditioners. In September 2012, four ( of the five) rooms have silent air conditioning, one have a more noisy air conditioning. We are going to change it in few days.

In 2012 we have bought new mattress. Somebody likes hard mattress, somebody softer. All are new and are quite hard. In the room you stayed, we put an extra twin bed for your two girls. It was softer than the others, we thought it was better for the girls. Probably you slept in it. All rooms have new and quite hard mattress.

-“All the room are without wardrobe”.

False. All rooms have wardrobe(tenders, settles, drawers and spaces were to put stuff).
Some rooms have also conventional cupboard. Your uncle's room had a conventional cupboard, for example. You entered in his room every day, but you forgot it!

-“Breakfast is nice not what we expected If you ask, you can also have cornflakes, yogurt and bread with jam. But you have to ask… “ .

We can understand your opinion about Sicilian pastry, it’s your own personal taste, we respect it. But we can’t accept that your review says something so wrong : B&B Tra I Frutti serves only Sicilian pastry… the rest you have to ask for. False. Every morning we serve different Sicilian pastries, croissant, biscuits and salted foods, to satisfy all different kind of tastes. You don’t have to ask to enjoy every day bread, jam ( our fruits), eggs ( our chickens), cheese, yoghurt…Anyway if someone has a disease or a specific need, we are willing to satisfy any specific need. If you wanted every day the same croissant, it was enough to ask them. You are not in a hotel and it’s possible to ask for what you prefer to eat! We are happy to try to satisfy it.

Breakfast at B&B Tra I Frutti is rich and various. This is the true.

-"The little swimming pool is dirty and if you have children there are some obstacles around the swimming pool very dangerous! "

The pool is not so little, 12mt x 7mt. The pool isn't dirty.
The water of the pool is clean. There are no obstacles around it. Why didn’t you specify better which ones?
We clean the water of the pool everyday and we keep every day the Chlorine and the PH in the exacts ranges. Pool is cleaned every day, the water is transparent.
Pool is surrounded by nice vegetation and, when it is windy, flowers and ash (it can arrive even from fire km far ) can temporary jump in it. That’s all. If temporary, while you are swimming, some leaves can fall down in the pool; if you are not only looking for an occasion to make us loose position in Tripadvisor, next time, remember that, in the pool area, there is a big blue net that can be used by everybody to take off a leaf or a fly.

-The review is generic, not transparent
“For some reason we slept in almost all the rooms”.

Probably you loose your memory. In June 3rd you asked for any availabilities. In June 4th you received an answer where we told you that to stay one week at B&B Tra I Frutti the only possibilities was to change 3 times room. In June 4th you accepted the proposal and you booked.

So the reason why you slept in different room you knew at the moment of your reservation several weeks before of your arrival. It wasn't a surprise, the generic expression “for some reason” is ambiguous and can be misunderstood.

-“A good host need more than a nice smile”.

We love improving and renovating every year, step by step, thanks to any helpful and constructive feedbacks. We love meeting people. We have a nice smile, because we have positive attitude, we have good work ethic, a willingness to be helpful. We both have a degree and previous job experiences that gave us some competencies to work in this field. Our professionalism is more than a nice smile. We love to make our best in our job and for our guests. We work hard and in a professional way to make it possible.

We stayed only one night but wish it could have been longer. Giuseppe and Paola were the epitome of hospitality and very welcoming. We had been sent detailed driving instructions in an email ahead of time, but an unfortunate oversight meant we didn't have it with us. We eventually called and Giuseppe drove out to meet up with us and guide us in. We were quite off base, oops. Once we realised where actually is (hint: not in Racalmuto town) it is very straightforward to follow the motorway and find it.

We refreshed ourselves with lovely fruit juice and pastries served by Paola and then settled into our rooms. The rooms are each different and two in our group had a lower garden room with a small kitchen and living area as well as sleeping area and a private patio in the garden. I was in the upper room which had a wonderful view and a private roof terrace. Insect screens kept out any bugs and shutters made the room dark at night. There was a choice of fan or airconditioning in our room and a fridge in the upstairs common area for our drinks and any other items. Cold bottled water was available from the fridge as well. The TV was there but we didn't use it ourselves. The bed was comfortable and plenty of towels for both showering and swimming.

We went into town after that and took up the recommended pizza restaurant. The food was fine but it's not an inspiring street to sit out overlooking. I think a better trick would be to pick up the pizza and bring it back to the B&B to enjoy there.

The swimming pool is set among the gardens and very pleasant at either end of the day! We had a swim in the morning to start the day off. Breakfast was served to the table out on a covered terrace and there were scrumptious fresh pastries, fresh made toast, jams, meat and cheese. Juice, coffee and tea kept coming and there were eggs made to order as well. Very generous spread!

The parking is free and secure but it is a little tight and you may have to wait for a car to move before you can get down the driveway. There are cats and a dog at the B&B, all in good condition and the dog is endearingly shy, so there's no concern about having a dog bounding up all over you when you arrive. He holds back eyeing you up hoping for a sign that you like him. Still, he's a curious one. One of our group left their flip flops outside to dry off in the garden and found them chewed up the next morning. The rest of us thought this very funny, but we all grew up with dogs and had been through this before with our own dogs. We didn't mention it to the owners because we didn't want them to feel obliged about it. But be aware - items left outside overnight may be claimed as toys by the dog!

We very much enjoyed our stay and the friendly conversations. We would love to return and spend more time relaxing there sometime.

From the moment we arrived, both Giuesspe and Paola made us feel welcome, especially as given the road works we actually missed the turning and rang for directions at which point Giuesspe came to find us!! The whole atmosphere was one of total relaxation, nothing was too much trouble, both Giuesspe and Paola were extremely friendly and helpful, directing us to restaurants that they had eaten at which were good, beaches which were fantastic etc, they even sorted out our parking ticket! We came away from this holiday feeling relaxed and as though we'd seen Sicily as it is. The gift of olive oil pressed from their own olives was a lovely gesture.

Had a lovely stay at this B&B. Wonderfull hosts, never shy for a nice conversation, advice or help! But also enough space do do your own thing. Pool is lovely and the house feels alive with the dog, cats and their kid playing! Breaksfast was good, a mix of sweet sicilian style and savory northern europe style, can be taken early or later in the morning.

All in all recommended for an other trip!

You will not meet friendlier or more gracious prople than Paola and Giuseppe. They excelled in all aspects as hosts, with the attitude of our being friends rather than merely paying customers. They helped us several times. Tra i Frutti is located truly among the many fruit trees. Breakfast is delicious and is mixed with tipical items from the area. Parking is tight as is the access road, which is at an awkward position to the intersection. A car is mandatory for this B & B. (Much construction on SS640 causes stressful and slow driving from Agrigento. For the rest of 2012 and 2013+ this will be going on. If you are arriving from the south, visit The Valley of the Temples first!)

Room Tip: Stay on the upper level!

Hi Martin. Thank you so much for your review. We are very happy you enjoyed your stay at B&B Tra i Frutti. We would like just to give the travellers an update about the road works. A few days ago, in July 5th, the road going to Agrigento was opened, no more long deviations. When you were here, the road situation was different, but starting from now ( and for the future) it's easier and faster to go to and come from Agrigento. We wish you all the best.
