“Location great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2012

Stayed here for one night as part of tour group. Hotel rooms large and comfy and got to sleep once traffic noise stopped. Drawback in the bathroom is that the shower is so small you could not retrieve the soap if you dropped it. Caters for tour groups so food is mass catering buffet type, there was plenty but no real quality. E-mailed for quiet rooms away from road and lift noise, my friend's and my rooms were opposite lift! Very good location for sight seeing.

Room Tip: Ask for room near swimming pool which is at back of hotel.

The hotel is located a very short drive from the magnificent Greek Temple Valley (on the way to Agrigento). The town itself where the hotel is located is not attractive at all ... your best pick would be a port town of San Leone (4km away featuring good restaurants and some life, although don't go there before 8pm).

We had problems with finding the hotel as we were following the map provided by booking.com. It's at the main road (on the left when coming from Agrigento). Free private parking in front of the hotel came extremely handy.

Check-in was very fast (15sec or so; probably the fastest check-in ever).

Our room was located on the 1st floor - this became a big disadvantage as the room window was facing a patio (with a palm tree in the middle); so in theory anybody could look into the room; however we never spotted anybody outside. Decor of the room was very "cold" with terracotta floors both in the bathroom and in the room - hospital feeling. Very basic furniture. Small and old TV. Our double bed was actually a joint twin bed. Bathroom featured a very small shower area (you wouldn't like to drop a soap in there).

At 8am we were the only guests for breakfast. Breakfast was basic, but good; featuring both a selection of ham and cheese as well as warm pastries.

One of the reasons why we picked this particular hotel was its swimming-pool. However it was closed both in the morning and in the evening.

Very good customer service both at the reception and breakfast.

One night cost us 63 EUR incl. breakfast.

If I was to visit Agrigento again, then most probably I would have selected the same hotel for my future stay, but not for more than one night.

Room Tip: Don't take a room on the 1st floor.

Stayed here overnight on a Sicily tour, unlucky for us the Hotel was catering for a wedding same evening. Food (no choice) and below average. Rooms are clean but basic with very small bathrooms would hate to drop the soup in shower it was like a box you fold round yourself. Certainly the worst Hotel of our trip, and would hate to stay longer than one night.

  • Liked — convenient for the overnight stop
  • Disliked — Staff seemed not interested

The Grand Hotel Mose' was a nice hotel to say at. The rooms were very clean and well equipped. The bathroom was a little bit small compared to american standards. Plenty of room for your luggage in the room as well. Our room was quiet as we were on the backside of the hotel. This hotel can get busy with bus tours but consider where they are near. The ruins of Agrigento are right down the road a few miles. The hotel restaurant served a good dinner and also a breakfast european style. There is also a decent sized pool at this hotel.

  • Liked — It was close to the attractions
  • Disliked — Tiny bathrooms/showers

This is a lovely hotel. It is a little out of town, but this did not affect us, we were on a bus tour. The rooms were clean and roomy. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. It has a small lounge and free internet. We had a delightful stay.

  • Liked — Helpful staff/clean rooms
  • Disliked — Distance from town.

Nice hotel located in town. Although near from few stores, hotel seems isolated and not properly located. Rooms are decent size. Nice outdoor set up with a very large swimming pool.
Hotel located in town and far from the coast and there is not much to see in the immediate surroundings.
Service was Ok but not more. Hotel was not fully booked and therefore a bit depressing considering location.

We were there because we were to visit “La Vallée des Temples” and it was Ok for a one night stay.

  • Liked — nice large room
  • Disliked — the location
