“Out of the Way Gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2012

Although this lovely little gem is off the beaten track it is well worth the effort making the short trip off the main road. The views are simply stunning and the ruins, although some are under cover, are quite special. There is also a small museum with some interesting pieces of excuisitely fine pottery. It is a special place and I quite see why it was chosen all those years ago for the building of an ampitheatre and village - a truly tranquil setting - enjoy the quiet.

“Utterly breathtaking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2012

This isn't just a place to visit if you love Ancient Greek ruins, even though it's wonderful for that. But its location is so perfect that it's worth a visit in its own right. Perched on a snow-white chalk cliff with stunning views of the Med and the local coastline, it is also surrounded by glorious Sicilian countryside, offering panoramic views that will take your breath away.

“Ruins with a view!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2012

A small archeological site in a stunning location. Overlooks a wonderful, long beach worth a visit in itself!

“bella spiaggia, fantastica pineta, acqua pulita”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2011

We enjoyed a sunny end of September in this beach. The sea was waivy and the water warm. We liked the calm and silence of that place. Some nuissance was given by bees which were quite numerous in the area and admittedly bothered us quite a bit.
I believe that during the peaks this area can be crowded. so I encourage to visit it off peak periods.

“Hugely disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2011

We'd read reviews of this site which promised so much - interesting archaeology, stunning beach, gorgeous views - and we were so disappointed. It cost 8 euros (adults) and we stayed about 10 minutes (rubbish value for money compared to Agrigento itself where we had a day and a half at temples and museum for 11 euros). The theatre has been covered over - which we were expecting - what we didn't expect was that it was covered with low white plastic so you couldn't get a good sense of what it was like, and the state of preservation is poor. It was very hazy when we were there so we couldn't appreciate the views. We didn't try the beach - just went on to Selinunte.
