Me and my wife didn't have a good experience with the Albergo La Croce. Differently from the other guests, we didn't want to stay in the hotel to go skiing in the little ski station in front of it, we simply wanted a place in the mountain where we could study and rest after a walk. It was simply shocking to find that our room was very cold. After an hour, we decided to ask the owner to set a higher temperature to the radiators. First, a member of staff said that it wasn't possible to do it, and the owner, as impolite as the other person, said he had just raised the temperature.
Whatever he did, the room didn't get warm enough, and, since I had a terrible headache due to the constant cold in the room, knowing that it would get even colder during the night, we decided to leave the hotel (at around 20:30) just a few hours after our arrival.
Under these conditions, we believed that it wouldn't be fair to be asked to pay for the whole price, because we weren't satisfied with the service at all. The owner, a person who believes arrogance and cynicism to be politeness, calmly said he would report us to the police if we didn't want to pay for the whole stay (as if we had slept in the hotel).
I must admit I became really angry with the owner before paying the whole price, something I found simply unfair and dishonest. I asked myself afterwards: how can a hotel owner allow himself to be so inflexible with his guests, especially when they're rightly unsatisfied with his hotel services, being indifferent to their well-being, knowing that he's directly dependent on these guests?
