“Relax”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

Recetly spent a week at this hotel ....... All staff friendly and helpful especially Antun , the duty manager who sorted out the room problem we had at the beginning of our stay . Beautiful views even on a less tha beautiful day of which we had two .... the storms were quite spectacular from the balcony !
Thankfully the indoor pool facility was superb !
The swimming pools were amazing and although cool they were a swimmers paradise as was the sea and the hotel's beach ... crystal clear waters and helpful staffing sorting the sunbeds etc. Not particularly child friendly however as the water is very deep and there are many steps in accessing the areas .
Restaurants on site are a meat eaters dream but sadly not mine ... being vegetarian was a slight problem .However the breakfasts were fine and plentiful and allowed us to eat well during the morning .
We arrived as a conference was in full flow so the dining room at breakfast was to say the least chaotic and queues at food stations were long . It did seem on some days that the staffing levels were insufficient to cope as tables were left uncleared .
Overall tho the break allowed us good relaxation , with comfortable and clean suroundings.
We too , would have liked to have had light streaming through the bath / bed divide window but hey ..... there isn't much else to moan about here ...

Room Tip: High floors facing the sea directly . Avoid rooms facing west as some of them overlook the ventilat...

We stayed at the Radisson Blu for 4 nights in early September. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful with stunning views and the apartment that we'd booked for 3 of us was great, with two bedrooms, a lounge, kitchen and a sea view.

As it's coming towards the end of the season it was quite quiet and not all the restaurants were open so we didn't find the food choices the greatest in terms of selection. We got both the boat and bus into Dubrovnik Old Town which is a good service - when you're there in the hustle and bustle it made it nice to be coming back to such a nice relaxing resort.

All of the staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful. There are lots of steps if you have young children or problems walking and the three outdoor swimming pools were absolutely freezing despite it being about 25 degrees each day.

Would definitely recommend for a relaxing break.

Room Tip: Pay extra for a sea view!

We booked an apartment with a balcony and sea view. I was a little disappointed that our balcony felt a bit enclosed due to the position of the surrounding apartment blocks, however the view was still stunning. Even better was the view from the sunset pool, this was just amazing. I was extremely impressed by the quality of the fixtures and fittings and facilities in the apartment, all very modern, tasteful and extremely comfortable. The only niggle was that we couldn't stop the noise of the aircon, despite turning it off. The hotel maintenance weren't able to either, so they offered us the opportunity to change room, but as we were only there a couple of nights and had got settled, didn't bother. We didn't use any of the restaurants or bars so I can't comment but small supermarket was very handy to have on site. We used the shuttle bus both nights to go into the old town and found this to be extremely convenient and high quality, although the staff at the travel agency where you book it were a bit unfriendly and unhelpful. All in all a great stay and I'd be more than happy to go back.

Room Tip: Make sure you book a sea facing room.

We booked a deluxe room through Expedia and was slightly concerned we may not get a decent room but we could not have faulted it, if you want a quiet room with privacy ask for a room overlooking the spa it was so peaceful with stunning views. The room was fantastic, my only complaint would be the window between the bedroom and bathroom because even with the blinds pulled if you use the bathroom in the night and tun the light on the whole of the bedroom is lit up as well which is very annoying if you are a light sleeper. The staff were all very polite nod nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was always busy but I think they coped very well although in the height of summer I would imagine it would be chaos. The choice of food was amazing, just wish I had a better appetite first thing in the morning! We ate at the buffet in the evening a few times and. also tried the butcher's grill both of which were excellent and reasonably priced. They were reducing the number of shuttle buses they ran into Dubrovnik while we were there as the hotel was obviously not as busy as it was in the summer but it was still full when we used it, it is a bit of a pain having to book in advance instead of just turning up but we used cabs as well and they were only 200 kuna which is no more than you Would pay for a cab ride in London over the same distance, the taxi drivers were always so friendly, the first time we went into Dubrovnik I asked him where we should go to get a taxi back he gave us his card and said to call him and he would come back and collect us which he did within 10 minutes of us calling.
I would highly recommend the hotel for a relaxing holiday nod Dubrovnik itself is beautiful and well worth a visit, we will definitely return.

We stayed in Rad Blu Dubrovnik for one week with our family and grand parents. Our Kids are 7 and 11 years old.
The service was terrible we thought afterwards:
- we had to change our room keys to two rooms totally 7 times during the week (not fun for older people, of course they asked us to keep the mobile phone away from room key because it may affect...meaning that it was customers fault)
- there were too few waitresses working during the breakfast time. The breakfast room was messy and there was hard to find place to sit. (of course it was our fault, "because we have so many guests in the hotel right now". Meaning that we should go to place where is fewer guests?)
- there is lot of restaurants but the service was poor and the menus were unsurprising. We had even difficulties to find something good to eat. In the fish place there were lot of cats and we found it disturbing. What did the waitress say: unnecessary to repeat it here. But we did not visit that place any more. The cats followed hotel guests to the breakfast place and there were even aggressive cat fight one morning. The staff did not do anything to get rid of the cats. Ps. I love cats!
- service people in the restaurants were quite joyless. maybe they were tired because the season is over soon. They use to hang out there in restaurants and pool pars when they had free time..and you could even see them smiling - when they were off work. But People in the spa were warm and friendly. We loved that place and visited it almost every day.
- we left the laundry bag and of course the housekeepers took it away. Till wednesday-thursday we did not get it back, so I reported it to lobby desk. It was the last drop and they never admit anything. All the duty manager Antun Vlahovic was able to do was roll his eyes. There were our clothes maybe for the amount of 300 euros, mainly used clothes so it was not a financial matter for us. But that was our fault because we should have contacted earlier to the lobby or something.
- in the check out I remembered that I have Club Carlson. Of course modern crm-systems should give possibilities to add the points even though you dont have the card with you. But no it did not give us possibility to add points.
- the last drop was when we get inmail from Radisson blu to answer survey. We remembered that happened year ago also when we visited Split Radisson Blu. There were ants in our room and we gave a complaint to the hotel several times. They gave us a bottle of incecticide...
- this time we gave the answers to the survey (which will lead to nothing I think) and I decided to write here.
But Dubrovnik is very beautiful place. I really recommend it to everybody. Maybe our experience in the hotel was only bad luck this time.

I would say this hotel is a very good 4star rather than the advertised 5 star. The price however corresponds with a 4 star hotel and what you get for your money is well worth it! The views of the coastline from the hotel are absolutely stunning. The facilities including pools, spa, sports centre etc are very good quality. The reason it is not quite a 5 star in my opinion is because the service is a little lacking. For example there are pool bars but no service to the sun beds - you get your own drinks. The atmosphere in the restaurants was lacking and the food only average for the price. We tried the pizza, grill and buffet. Service often wasn't with a smile although saying that not all staff were like this and some were very friendly. I would recommend staying in the apartments and self catering for breakfast and lunch as it is much more cost effective and you can make yourself nicer food. Spend a little extra on the sea view though. Another tip is to stay in the town for a few nights before comng to this hotel for the second part of your holiday. Then you don't have the hassle of getting backwards and forwards and get to experience dubrovnik by night after the cruise ships have left.
To summarise, a great hotel with great facilities. The food and service isn't amazing but not bad enough to ruin your holiday. The view really is amazing and we will most likely return again in the future.

Everything about this accommodation was excellent apart from the distance away from the main town of Dubrovnik, We had a car so no problem for us. A cab was 200 kunas which equated to approx £20. There was a shuttle service by bus and boat but didn't work out how regular or reliable this was as we were slightly out of season! Still highly recommended!

Room Tip: If you can afford it, pay extra for sea views, although we had a pleasant ground floor garden apartm...
