“En Route to Switzerland”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

We enjoyed a two night stay at this delightful little hotel in a very quiet location in the Vosges mountains. We took the half board option and were not disappointed. The food was excellent. Try the home made yogurt for breakfast. The room was small but with everything we needed and was very clean and had a Swiss style balcony. The views from the dining room over the valley were spectacular. A nice hotel in a very attractive area.

This small hotel lies in a quiet location (Frenz) close to Kruth in the High Rhine area of the Vosges mountains. It's a perfect place to relax if, like us, you want to walk in the mountains and enjoy peace and beautiful scenery. We took half-board which was good value - food was tasty, local cuisine. Our bedroom was a little small but we arrived late without a reservation and took the last room - others may be larger. The pure tranquility of the location is seductive - one to return to in future.

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the road (very quiet) but try to book ahead and get one overlooking the va...

This hotel was gorgious!
We were looking for a hotel in which we could specd a week, with no noise, no cars, nothing. Only nature, some good books, good shoes for walking. That's all.
Every week-end you can ski in front of the hotel, but this only one single track, and only for beginners. Don't go there for skiing. But this isperfeect for great walks in the forest.
We had a lot of good snow. You need a car to access to the site and go for visits around.

Rooms are very clean (we ahd a very large one), the staff is very friendly, even if it's a bit surprising at first (the oman uses to shout instead to talking, but she's very nice in fact).
The restaurant is delicious: good food, good wines. The chef is also very friendly.
The hotel is clean, and the Spa is also cool! We also had some massages.

We recommend this hotel at 200%: excellent quality and very very low prices.

Les Quatre Saison is one of the places you want it to be a "secret". The very small village is in the middle of nowhere, so what to do? You can read a book, take a beautiful walk - take the 12 km walk - with good walking shoes and enjoy the silence, the views and the mountaingoats. The rooms are pretty nice decorated, good beds and beautiful views at the small village Kruth. The family who runs this hotel is very kind - they speak English! - and the breakfast they serve is more than overwhelming. We took halfboard and the menu is served in four courses price less than 18 Euro! - for instance smoked salmon on marinated coleslaw - than the maincourse tranches of meat in a lovely mushroomlike sauce with marinated tomatoes, culiflower and a slice of grilled gnocci. Than ofcourse the cheese lovely Munster cheeses and last but not least chocolate ice presented in a chocolate mousse with biscuits. All homemade. Please follow the advice of the sommellier for the more than good wines. A bottle of Gewurztraminer about 20 Euro.
In the winterperiod you can take your ski's with you and enjoy. This area is called Les Vosges and in the period we visited this hotel there was a beautiful Indian Summer going on in the woods surrounded.
The restaurant and the lobby are a little bit overdecorated but this is our personal opinion.
Take care this is a small hotel and the rooms are a little bit small, than take a larger room or suite. It is not expensive and a stay of 2 or 3 nights is very relaxing.
For more details see the webpage of the hotel and book!
