“Great villa in Oman”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

This is a fantastic place to stay, Generous size room, amazing breakfasts, lovely owners, clean. Great location, only 3minute walk from the beach, visible from the balcony, and 15 minute drive from Muscat. You do need to a car to access it. There isn't much to do in this fishing village except walk around the mountains, hence need a car.

We wanted something different than a normal hotel. Green Villa fitted the bill perfectly. We wanted something of the beaten track but still close to the city. Green Villa is in the quiet 'village' of Qantab, on the outskirts of Muscat, close to the Oman Dive Centre and Shangri-La hotel. It is walking distance from a quiet beach. The village is beautiful and the people very friendly.
The breakfasts was good and the hostess, Heiderose, looked after us very well. She is friendly and informative and can give a lot of good advice about things to do and see in the area.
The rooms are big, the beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms are clean. It was a very good stay and we will definitely consider using Green Villa again on our next trip to Muscat.

Room Tip: The upstairs rooms have their own balconies and a good view of the village.

A little bit difficult to find the place but asking around, friendly people phoned the owner. As said in other reviews, you really need a car, there is nothing in the nearby area. At the back of the villa there is a very nice garden with table and chairs for a lovely breakfast. Wifi, and tourist information available.
Would be nice if you can make an online-reservation as there are just a few rooms in the villa.

Our two nights at the Green Villa were the most relaxing of our trip, both due to the accommodations and the quiet Qantab village. The house is tastefully and comfortably decorated, our room was pretty plain but had everything we would need. Only real issue at all was that our bathroom wasn't entirely clean when we arrived late at night. Breakfast was very good with a number of options and the back door patio was a great place to lay outside and read. Qantab has no real commercial area so you'll have to drive for most things, but we hardly wanted to leave.

Tucked away Green Villa is a beautiful villa. Qantab has a lovely laid back feel to it and a walk around the houses in the adjacent areas is not to be missed.

Green villa is beautifully designed, the rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast spread was good.

One must rent a car in order to move around as this place is a little far off from city center. Finding taxis is problematic and taxis tend to demand nearly 4 times more than the actual fares

This was a lovely place to start our holiday. You do need a car as there is nowhere to eat within walking distance and the accommodation is bed and breakfast only with water provided in the rooms. The breakfast was good with fresh bread, ham, cheese ,jams, cereal and eggs, eaten outdoors in the garden. Very relaxed and social. The owners are extremely helpful and used their contacts and made phonecalls on our behalf to sort out our hire car problems. The villa is in a quiet area. There is a Lulu hypermarket 10 mins away by car. Just a few minutes walk is the small beach where we enjoyed the snorkelling. Heiderose gave us a large downstairs room as we were setting off on a camping trip and needed to sort out our stuff. It was ideal as a setting off point.

I have been to Muscat twice and tried another B&B. It was not nearly as nice as this one. This one is fantastic. You can find more info about it here: https://sites.google.com/site/greenvillaqantab/home

The hostess was fantastic to us. Really sweet. The outdoor patio was a great place for a social breakfast with other guests. The rooms were spotless, and they had every you needed. My only complaint was the lack of water pressure in the shower - it was ok but not great. The location is great - right between the Oman Dive Center and Jissah/Shangri-La Resort on one side and al-Bustan/Sidab/Muttrah on the other. It feels like you're really smack in the middle of Oman here. The landscape is fabulous. The only nicer place is probably one of the $400/night hotels. Coming in at around $150/night, this is a great (although somewhat pricey) alternative.

Breakfast was nice. It was meat, cheese, bread, hard-boiled eggs, juices, and fresh marmalade. Simple, but delicious.

Highly recommend!

Room Tip: All the rooms were nice although I think I'd ask for an upstairs room if you can.
