Had had a tough day at work and wanted somewhere peaceful to relax and unwind, as well as know that what would be served would be delicious.
Decided to go for the four course menu at the Beach Restaurant at the Chedi. A place where the food and service is not only reliable, for the quality you receive it is relatively good value. We could not go wrong with the choices here. Usually we have caviar, of which there are at least six different choices, but this evening we decided not to. I was tempted to start with some oysters but my other half did not want to so we decided to go for the four course menu option which began with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine from the restaurant as well as an amuse bouche. They were both well received and a nice start to a wonderful evening.
This was followed by our entree selection, of which I had a soup with smoked haddock and my partner had the asparagus and green mint pea soup. Both were delicious and so were the next three courses. In between we received complimentary breads with our favourite thyme flavoured butter and olive oil from France. After the third course we were offered a divine and unforgettably yummy strawberry sorbet. At the end of the meal when we had asked for our bill we were also pleasantly surprised with some lovely sweet treats compromising lavender marshmallow, fruit cheese and macaroon.
In addition to the lovely food, the setting has also to be mentioned. The restaurant is located right on the beach, on the evening in question there was a full moon up above, a gentle breeze from the ocean, a grey heron standing by the break of the waves . . .
