“A Wonderful Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

Sylvie shares her home and love for wine and the region with her guests. She has restored the chateau, vineyards, and wine making facilities to a high standard retaining the charm and beauty of the region. We stayed for 5 nights and took advantage of the estate by taking walks through the vineyard and garden, swimming in the pool, and eating a suggested restaurants nearby. When we wanted to have something light and a bottle of wine, Sylvie prepared a lovely plate of salad, cheese, and charcuterie to go with her delicious wine. We felt like one of the family!

The rooms are lovely, large, modern amenities, yet retain a timeless, old world charm. We had a lovely breakfast with homemade preserves. The pool is a welcome retreat after a busy day sight seeing in the region where there is plenty to do. The location is perfect for discovering small villages, Bordeaux city, Saint Emilion, Fronsac, and other parts of the entre deux mers region. Easy access to the highway.

We would love to stay again and have recommended the Chateau to our friends!

We stayed for one night and I wish we'd stayed longer.tricky to find but well worth it. The rooms are well furnished and large. The bathroom was very modern and well laid out. We did the tour of the winery which is not to be missed. We tasted some wine straight from the barrel. Madam could not do an evening meal for us but we had a picnic instead on the veranda. We were provided with cutlery and glasses. It was quite magical to sit overlooking the vineyard, trying a bottle of her very good wine. The breakfast was sufficient. Overall a lovely place and I cannot wait to return.

This place is amazing and if you are in Bordeaux you would be missing out not to stay here. We stayed for just one night and wished we had longer to spend in such a great place. The room was beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable and noce & big.We were given a personal tour of the winery by our host Sylvie Dulong which was simply fabulous and then enjoyed a picnic on the terrace overlooking the vines with a bottle of wine produced on the estate. I will definately try to come back and have already recommended it to our friends. This place is in the countryside so either take a picnic, ask Sylvie to prepare food for you or be prepared to drive to get dinner.

What an amazing place. We were two couples coming from a bike ride in Saint Emilion. The arrival at the Chateau left us all amazed – beautiful place set away around 1 Km from the road in the middle of vineyards (mostly their own). The house is gorgeous and so are the rooms, full of charm and nice touches.
The owner was there when we arrived and offered us a bottle of their award winning Rose – which was marvelous.
She gave us a very good suggestion of a place to have dinner.
We had a fantastic night.
We had breakfast in the lovely dinner room surrounded by old European tapestries – fantastic.
We had a tour in the winery and tasted some more of their fine vintage.
The only suggestion I could make is that breakfast should have some extras like ham and/or cheese, which I feel important for a nice start, especially at that price range.

Since November of 2011 I have stayed "yes" 8 times at Chateau Lavergne Dulong coming from Miami each month the last time was in July ,Madame Dulong is the most extraordinary host who make you feel at home.
I have stayed in the four bedrooms , each one decorated with great taste ,my favorite where I
stayed most of the time was Madeleine.
Entering thru the long driveway between the vineyard to the magnificient English country house ,the attractive small winery ,even the hidden large swimming pool ,everything has been designed to perfection.I enjoyed the breakfeast in the dinning room just like you expect ,fresh croissants, baguette, organic eggs....
Home away from home it has been....guess ? I now live 6 km away in a farmhouse ,beeing involve in a vineyard....Sylvie has become a friend who always welcome me .
If you go to Bordeaux ,this is the place to stay,I give Chateau Lavergne Dulong 5 Stars.

Room Tip: As I wrote ,Madeleine (a suite) was my favorite

Exactly what we were looking for - a beautiful property, fabulous wines, and an even more fabulous host. Sylvie made us feel like one of the family and the chateau is to die for. It's reasonably priced, and it feels like the home you'd like to have in France if you could. Sylvie cooked us dinner and we learned a lot about wine making and the region. And the place was so easy to get to. If I was going again to the Bordeaux region, I'd stay there again - and again.

We stayed one night in the beautiful Suite Clothilde. The owner Sylvie is very friendly and we had such a good time swimming in the pool and having a nice relaxed dinner with the other guests. Highly recommended!
