During our holiday in St Vincent we decided to stay in Bequia for a few nights. Having read previous reviews we decided to stay at the Sugarapple inn.
We've never stayed in an apartment or guest house before, so we weren't too sure what to expect.
I'm pleased to say that the Sugarapple Inn did not disappoint.
As there was only one morning ferry leaving St Vincent on the day we were due to arrive (sunday). I emailed the Sugarapple Inn to ask if we could check-in earlier than the designated check-in time. Which they happily agreed to and even offered to arrange for a taxi to pick us up.
When we arrived we quickly realised that whilst the Sugarapple Inn is classed as a BB, it should be classed as an apartment Hotel.
Our room was spacious, nicely decorated and incredibly clean. The bedroom area had the same layout as a hotel room and adjoining bathroom. The only real difference is that we had a set of french doors where you would usually have a balcony we had a dinning lounge area, with louvered shutters that opened fully to overlook friendship Bay. There was a fitted kitchen to the right of the dinning area with kettle, toaster, blender, fridge, hob and a supply of utensils, plates and pots. The area resembled an open living dining area.
The bathroom had towels, face cloths, toilet paper, soap, mini shampoo & conditioner. The towels and face cloths are replaced every 48 hours and the apartment is cleaned and bedlinen changed daily.
Our room had a flat screen TV, cable, and iPod docking station. Each room had 2 portable chairs, beach towels and sun lounger cushions.
You get a continental breakfast included in your stay, but if you feel like having a fully cooked breakfast you can pay for breakfast of your choice.
The view from the Sugarapple Inn was amazing and due to its elevated position there was a welcome breeze in the evenings.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay, the staff were friendly and helpful, the accommodation was comfortable and contemporary and the location was great.
