“What a stunning place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2014

We went selfdrive to Scotland , looking back we should of gone by coach as cheaper seeing as we had over five hour journey . But god was it worth it ,the building ,the views, the weather was great that's before we went in Hotel .
We stayed in room 33 the new build , I had asked for a loch view when booking as that was a view! Double bed + single , lovely furniture and shower room ....big . We are only in our 40s so knew we would be the youngsters but everyone were lovely.
The staff are nice , helpful nothing to much trouble for them . Food excellent and great choice , must say jeans tighter now though.
Entertainment every night , dancing etc or rooms for board games or just quite for reading.
Difficult to get a mobile signal but full signal in the middle of the loch whilst fishing on a boat which was amusing ,even though stung by a bee after only 10 mins on it . Also at night the midges were a huge nuisance and in droves I was bitten a lot ' still scratching!
We had a four night break and for what we paid was incredible DBB ...£245 pure luxury and peace in a beautiful place .
A must is Oban great fishing town and a walk to the loch castle , views everywhere are to die for . We are Wales freaks so pleased with the mountains lakes and openess . Can not get used to all your things with oats in though even my rice crispies , leave alone there meant to snap crackle and pop :)
Be prepared to drive a lot or walk a distance , post office cum shop five mins down the road and that's it so bring your own goddies as not great choice .
Oh and wi fi only in reception so you have to sit there , lucky if you get a signal in your room .
Gretna green totally ruined by turning it into yet another shopping arcade , not in the least romantic . Loch awe was for us!

Room Tip: Room with a view without a doubt but beware newer part is a walk and three floors of stairs , did...

I have been to this hotel with a lochs and glens coach holiday. It is a lovely old hotel and in a beautiful setting with the loch as a back ground picture. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It had entertainment on at night in the function hall and it finished early, so will not disturb your beauty sleep. The meals were excellent and very good value for the price paid for this tour.

We were visiting England from Canada and my sister referred us to Lochs and Glens as she and her husband had done two previous trips with them and highly recommended as a way to see a liitle bit of Scotland.Very, very happy that we chose them. Great value for money. We were a little apprehensive about the long coach ride from Southampton but with frequent stops and Gary our knowledgeable, courteous, friendly and full of jokes driver, the trip wasn't so bad. We had emailed the hotel and asked for and received a loch facing room which ended up being above the dining area but we never noticed any noise from evening entertainment. Room was comfortable although bathroom could do with updating. The dinner menu was varied with something for every taste( I was able to try haggis) and a full breakfast was always available to start the day. Trips were interesting and different lengths so that you had time at the end of the day to relax before dinner or do as we did and walk to the ruins of Kilchurn Castle further down the loch.We really enjoyed this vacation and highly recommend.

The young staff from Hungary, Canada et al helped to make this one of our best ever hotel holidays. The room was warm and cosy for a damp June and the food was varied and always piping hot.
My husband had special needs which were provided for by Phill in the Dining Room with no fuss.
Thanks again Lochs and Glens.

I have just returned from a 6 day holiday in this hotel yet again I was very impressed with the standard of accommodation the helpfulness and politeness of the staff. My room no,211 had a lovely view of the loch and apart from the shower which needs updating everything was perfect.
