“medieval monastic masterpiece worth a short visit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2013

Having been travelling to Mallorca since 2008 I thought it time to visit Lluc. A better example of medieval monastic architecture would be difficult to find. The combination of an excellent museum, coupled with the magnificent church to include its domed roof make for a pleasant visit. The short video intro was a tadge too dark for my taste and the 'jardin' at the rear of the monastery poorly maintained. No disputing the facilities are excellent but will not rush back. Petty to hear of pickpockets in such a religious setting.

“Delightful place to visit...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

A tranquil and interesting place to visit. The buildings and grounds are beautifully maintained. The Basilica is atmospheric and interesting. There is a good museum attached containing works of art, ancient pottery and ceramics, furniture and other artifacts.

There are several places attached where it is possible to eat well for a modest amount. Parking is very near and there is a children's play area near the entrance to burn off some energy before heading for the sights.

“Beware”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013

A short visit to a wonderful place.
Alas pick pockets - would you believe - in the basilica. Inside-whilst a service had just commenced!
Wallet, passport stolen but returned, obviously less the cash.
The thieves blocked a door while we were trying to exit. This made us raise arms to push our way out. They made it feel as if we were not allowed exit as the service had started. Very clever technique.
Why did they seek us out and return Cards etc in tack. Did they take the card details? Anyway passport returned. And cards now cancelled.
