“Perfect Christmas Vacation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

My husband and teenage daughter and I stayed in the loft apartment for a week during Christmas 2012. We had a fantastic time and would definitely return!! The loft apartment was clean and had all of the amenities one would need. We especially enjoyed the private outdoor shower with lovely flowers and lots of room. This is a great vacation spot that gives you a local feel for the island and is free from tourists.
Karoll and Nick were most gracious. Their meals were delicious and tips for getting around were helpful. We rented a car that Karoll had delivered to the property. We would recommend renting a car to get around the island. There is so much to see and discover including the gorgeous beaches.
There is a local grocery store and numerous restaurants with many varieties of the famous rum punch. Yum Yum
As soon as we returned home my daughter posted a picture on Instagram stating that she wanted to go back! I agree!!

Just home from a 2weeks holiday staying in the penthouse appartment. We wanted a place in the sun with home comforts ,some good food and snorkelling opportunities.Reefview ticked all the
boxes .
Karroll and Nick are excellent hosts, the appartment was spotlessly clean, well equipped and comfortable ,and the snorkelling trip with Nick and Karroll exceeded our expectations.
Karroll arranged a hire car for 2 days for us so that we could visit further afield which we enjoyed -we had intended hiring for another few days but found the local bus service so convenient that we didn't bother-we never waited more than 5 minutes for a bus which took us to the fully stocked supermarket in nearby Jolly Harbour and to a choice of several superb beaches and various restaurants. We also shopped in the village shops a five minute walk away where we found the shopkeepers friendly and helpful.
If you feel like a day by a pool rather than the beach the nearby resort at Jolly Harbour(five to ten minutes by car or bus)have the option of a day pass for the swimming pool for the equivalent of a few pounds sterling-for this you can come and go as you please-visit the bank, restaurants, shops, use the changing room and showers ,use the sun loungers and have drinks by the pool etc.
A tip re wiring deposits and balance from uk-we found the online Post Office service secure and easy-FSA covered ,just google Post Office currency transfer .

Stayed at reefview apartments, amazing place. Great location. Lovely owners who can't do enough for you. Nick took us snorkelling off a untouched reef. I've never seen so many fish. I loved it so much, this is the second time I've been back. And I look forward to returning again 1 day.

This was the ideal spot to avoid the regular tourist experience, in an easily accessible rural setting which still felt safe and convenient. The garden cottage we stayed at was very clean, comfortable, private and well furnished - there little we could fault.

The hosts were extremely helpful and accommodating; it was a bit like having your cool aunt and uncle living next door for emergencies - it goes a long way to make you feel safe and a part of the community.

All the things you could possibly want out of a Caribbean holiday are outside the doorstep: the people, the snorkeling, the local food, and a deserted beach that was perfect for a (successful!) sunset marriage proposal. We cannot wait to go back!

Room Tip: The bedroom and bathroom in the garden cottage are on separate floors - and the rather steep stairca...

The Owners Nick and Karoll, of these beautiful apartments catered for Mine and my partners every need, doing pick up and drop offs to the airport, helping us organise a brilliant deal on a hire car, showing us amazing off the beaten track beaches and trails also places to eat that serve local food which is delicious. I highly recommend the fried chicken off the counter in the local supermarket too! Was sooo good! So much to explore and see, but if you want to sit and do nothing the surroundings are so beautiful you dont have to move! You get humming birds in the lush and quirky gardens Karoll keeps surrounding the apartments. The beach is a stones throw away, so nice for romantic walks as the sun sets.
The apartments themselves, we chose to stay one week in one and upgrade the last week to the slightly more luxerious one with amazing views and both were spotless.Beds comfy, lovely showers(always nice!) with balaconys to sit outside and soak up sun or shade.
Has all kitchen facilitys you need, if you want to cook fish you have cought that day for dinner you can, but the bbq laid on by Nick is sooo good!!
Not to mention the gorgeous most well behaved dogs they have that really make you feel at home. I would love to come back again tommorow, i didnt want to leave.

My Mum and I came to Antigua for my cousin's wedding at the beginning of December 2012. I have no interest in staying in all inclusive resorts, with lots of other tourists, hence why we decided to stay at ReefView Apartments.

We were met at the airport by Karoll and given a guided tour of the shore line on the way back to Cades Bay. The first evening we joined Nick & Karoll plus the other guests staying at ReefView for a BBQ. It was delicious and a great opportunity to discuss what to see and do.

We hired a car for the first three days, organised by Karoll, which was a great way to explore the island. The drive through the rain forest to the east & south east of the island was beautiful. Having the car meant we could stop whenever we wanted, at an art gallery, local church or to buy some fresh fruit from one of the local stands. If you hire a car you must go to Devil's Bridge, Betty's Hope, Half Moon Bay and Nelson's Dockyard. Make sure you tell Karoll where you plan to go each day because she'll give you some good advice with regards to driving there and the best places to have lunch. Despite what the guide books say it is actually very easy to drive in Antigua, and that's coming from someone who only drives once every three years. Yes, there are few road signs and lots of pot holes, but there isn't a lot of traffic on the road, the distances are small and there are also lots of local people who will help you if you ask.

The wedding was beautiful. The ceremony was at Church Valley beach and the reception at English Harbour.

The last two days we took it easy and explored the south coast by using the local buses. The beaches are stunning along this stretch of the island. There are no timetables but we never waited more than 5 minutes for a bus, they will pick you up from the end of the lane and drop you off where ever you want. They are very cheap and easy to use. My favourite spot was Ffryes beach, you have to walk there from the road but it isn't that far and it's well worth it. Dennis's bar is perched up on a hill and is a great place to have a delicious lunch. There were only 3 people on the beach when we arrived.

The beach closest to ReefView isn't one of the white sandy beaches however it is beautiful in it's own right. There is a lot of wildlife and absolutely no tourists. You can watch the local fishermen in the water with their nets. The water is shallow for a while and then there is a drop off which is a great place to snorkel, I saw all sorts of different shaped, sized and coloured fish (apologies for not being able to name any) plus coral and vegetation. Unfortunately I was actually very ill whilst we were in Antigua so I didn't want to go out on a boat to the actual reef, however I was very happy with the snorkelling that I did from the closest beach.

On our last day Karoll dropped us at Turner's beach where we had a lovely lunch before heading to the airport. The flight took 2 hours less due to the get stream, very pleased about that.

We were trying to find some accommodation that didn't fall into the category of "all inclusive beach resort" - which seems to be ubiquitous on Antigua and....... success!! What a fantastic place and what amazing hosts we found in Karrol and Nick. The accommodation is perfect; lovely house comprising several very well equipped apartments. We stayed in the "Love Shack" - really unique and fab outside shower! Without question though, Karrol and Nick (plus the menagerie of dogs and a Macaw!) must be some of the very best hosts in the Caribbean! From getting picked up at the airport, through to the minute we left, we really felt as if we were staying with friends. They're full of great ideas for things to do, beaches and local restaurants to visit (Jackie O's is a must), activities and nights out. They can give you an insiders guide to local places to see, eat and visit. I'd highly recommend their welcome night BBQ and a trip to Shirley Heights! Sadly we didn't stay for long enough to experience one of Nick's fly fishing or snorkelling trips but they'll be top of the agenda next time we visit.
