“ONCE AGAIN EXCELLENT”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

I feel that I have to write another review on this excellent pub after reading negative reviews . Since discovering this little gem in April we have re-visited at least half a dozen more times. On each and every occasion the staff have been friendly and accommodating and the food has been delicious. There is a great atmosphere. Last night (Tuesday) the pub and beer garden was full, and each and everyone was eating and comments from close by tables about the food was very positive. Although busy we were told that there would be a wait for the food, but we really didnt wait that long before it came out.
I do not have any hesitation to highly recommend this pub and look forward to returning very soon

“Decent pub stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

We recently had a pub lunch in this lovely pub. It has a wonderful beer garden which was ever so relaxing and great on a sunny day, we really enjoyed it. Good selection of beers. Food menu pretty good. We had vege burgers which were tasty and there was ample food. All in all would go again

“Average food,Atrocious service....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013 via mobile

Barman served two different locals before even acknowledging myself, and I was there well before them.I don't think I'm hard to miss at 6'4".When served we sat at our reserved table, and waited an age for our order to be taken and when it was taken we felt as if we were being a hindrance, there was no welcome at all and there was 5 of us so we were going to spend a fair amount.Devon crab cakes appeared bought in and not homemade, very, very dry and unappetising with a small amount of fire chutney.Wild boar sausages tasted like very ordinary supermarket pork sausage, mash potato was hard.Calves liver bland with under cooked bacon and a brown substance supposedly gravy/jus,and the veg had been on the pass for a fortnight, dry and shrivelled.NEVER EVER AGAIN,ONCE BITTEN TWICE SHY.Others beware...!!!!!
