“Not bad.......”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

We went on a Wednesday evening thinking it would be quite - especially since you do really need a car to get here. We were wrong!

The place was really busy, car park was full! Its one of those places that never seems full of people though.... loads of cars, where are the people?

Anyway, really dislike the way you have to stand at the bar to order food and drinks. The queue was about 5 people deep and took around 20 mins till we could order anything (gasping!!) Order and pay for we did but then sat for a further 20 minutes waiting for the food. It wasn't bad but certainly nothing to write home about but for us was a nice change.

Really depends on what you expect from somewhere in truth - it suited our purpose that particular night. £44. 3 main meals and one glass of wine (1 free with a steak).

Food was average - onion rings are far from average though!

“Expensive but pleasant!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

Expensive food for what you get, good range of real ales and plentiful car parking. The produce appears to be of a high quality and they cater for large parties, but the place lacks a bit of character, but not their fault it is a brand new building! Staff are friendly and helpful and the place is spotless.

“Pretty good food in a nice setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

The food is quite good (not as good as shiremoor house farm though - owned by the same group). The place is quite nice and very different than a typical english pub. Very nice!

“Expensive for poor food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

Medium to rare rib eye steak was nearly cremated. Salmon dish had butter sauce though it was supposed to be hollandaise, 13 peas, two baby potatoes cut up and four asparagus. will never go back, even though we complained waitress never came back. In and out in one hour.

“Good.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012

Always find this place hard to find!!

Nice meal, good meat menu.

Service was a little on slow side and it was not busy when we were there.

Quite expensive.
