“Enjoyable Festive Lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2013

9 of us had a pre-booked festive Lunch. The whole Christmas meal. Well presented, well cooked and plenty of Turkey. There were options for the starter, main meal and sweet. we all had a good time and really enjoyed the meal and the good company. I forgot to say "No sprouts please" so had to leave them but that was my fault.

“Enjoyable lunchtime meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2013

Recently enjoyed a 'get-together' with friends at the Tudor Rose. Good choice of food on the menu and the two for £10 offer was excellent and good-sized portions. Two of us ordered lasagne and we could choose either garlic bread of chips to accompany the lasagne as well as a 'proper' salad (not a few wilting dressed leaves that some pubs serve). The other choices made by our party were quiche and fish and chips and we all enjoyed our meals. The choice of sweets was excellent as well and can recommend the raspberry and almond trifle with cream! We had a helpful and pleasant waitress and we will definitely be returning in the New Year.

“No improvement”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2013 via mobile

Had a bad experience with nuked mushrooms at this restaurant some years ago and had never visited again until this weekend. We had received a number of good reports and decided to try for lunch on Saturday. car park busy but by no means full. As we were looking for a snack decided to eat in the bar. Went to find table but as we went to sit down one of the other customers advised us that the bar was booked for a private function. No staff available to confirm this.
Decided we would eat in restaurant. Very impressive plinth with a notice saying wait here to be seated. Many empty tables. We waited and waited but could not spot any staff. Gave up and as we left we spotted that rare breed "a member of staff" she was at the reception desk for the hotel. I think it will be a very long time before I try to seat here again.

“Excellent Value¬”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2013

Relaxing surroundings - Helpful staff! The "£10 for two main courses" is really excellent value for a good choice of well cooked food. And two desserts for £2! Well.........!

“Truly wonderful staff who make the restaurant what it is!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013 via mobile

We have just returned from a weekend away and we ate here twice. What wonderful caring staff who actually enjoy their job. It's so refreshing to eat somewhere where the staff like being there. I would like to give a special mention to Bobby who is an amazing waitress and entertained my little girl brilliantly. Food is your typical Brewers but to a high quality.
