Came to Goa on a week long trip and booked Montego for 3 nights with the intention of extending it. This place had come highly recommended and by the next morning, after breakfast we were even ready to forgo our advance and move to another place. The main issues:
Dining area was infested with flies, especially at breakfast time. We went with 2 kids and it was a nightmare with many other families, loud ones, clamouring for a piece of fly ridden toast.
Bathrooms: Poky ones at the log cabin, badly maintained, low light and very much like a train loo.
value for money: we paid Rs.5,000 and that was that real issue for us. Didn't see any value. For 3,000 this is what you can expect but not when you are paying this much mrs and when you are bring your kids on a holiday. General maintenance is not up the quality of a resort that charges this amount.
Pool: it was a pathetic excuse of a pool. The receptionist did mention that the beach was a better bet when we checked in.. But hey!

Location Is right on Morjim beach and the property overlooks the expanse of the beach. But thing is, a few kms down the road In Mandrem the beachside resorts and beaches are far more private, cleaner and for the same price super value.

To be fair:
Ours was the last room, apparently, available for the Diwali weekend and could have been a bad apple. But that does not solve the general hygiene issues.
Service was decent - the crew was doing the best they could and tried hard to make things better.

Room Tip: Avoid the log cabin - bathrooms are poky and didnt look clean. The heritage cottage looked pretty go...

Montego Bay Beach Village was nice and quiet in October when we visited for 5 nights. It's a stone's throw from long stretches of sand, perfect for swimming, walking and running. We stayed in a basic wooden cabin in lovely grassy grounds peppered with palm trees. What stood out during our stay was the wonderful service of the staff, who genuinely cared and made sure you were happy. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. I'd recommend coming to this beautiful spot in Goa for excellent value for money and friendly helpful staff.

Room Tip: Ask for a new log cabin perhaps.

On the beach lovely wooden cottages and tents with good food with sun and sand makes Montego bay a great place to spend ones weekend . The staff are very friendly and make on feel at home
the full layout is clean. The food is very reasonably priced and has the authentic Goan taste.

We stayed in one of the tents. Our initial impression was not that inspiring to be honest but we found the place grew on us and we were sad to leave.

The tent is quite basic but it has a concrete/tile bathroom area which is perfectly functional. A tent is never going to be spotless but it was actually pretty clean and presentable, all things considered. There's a fan and mosquito killer; we also asked for a mosquito net which was put in for us when we arrived. The bed and bedding were fine.

The site has a large outdoor lounge area, a bar and a restaurant. The food was served fresh and though we didn't have much, what we had was good. Breakfast was included: fruit, eggs to order, bread etc. The flies were off putting though, but we were outdoors in India so there's probably not much that one can do.

There was a large number of staff on site. When we first arrived we were a little concerned about security (in a tent) but we found that there was a guard at the entrance so our fears were allayed.

As other have said, the resort is right on the beach. We woke to the sound of the waves. The best parts of the beach, in our opinion, are a walk along the coast (~15 mins walk). It's lovely walking along the beach in sunshine so this didn't bother us at all. The water was a lot cleaner here than Calangute where we had been previously. There were flags showing the safe areas and lifeguards at these locations. There are various shacks on the beach which serve food and drink or sell cotton and silk garments.

We stayed a few days here and it was it was just fine walking along the beach, finding somewhere to lie out, having drinks and snacks, and then walking back to our tent. We had food cooked in the restaurant one night and it was surprisingly good. Although Morjim is relatively quiet we did not find it too remote and there's a shopping street close by.

We only had three days there and would happily have stayed a few days longer.

This hotel is pet-friendly, laid back and very well placed. They do have a No-Food in rooms policy, but the food at their restaurant is quite good. Also, it's such a short walk from your cottage into the beach that you will fall in love. Our doggie enjoyed his stay and the staff may not be enthusiastically friendly, but they are quite efficient. Bora-Bora is just next door, so if you need a change of menu you could step out or try the dozen other restaurants nearby.
The morning free breakfast buffet ain't much, but the a'la carte menu works fine. The beach is quite safe as we took long walks at about 2am and it was fine.
The swimming pool is the only disappointment and it is so small, it could be a bird bath.

Room Tip: Goa is a very laid back place, so don't be surprised if you land early and there is no one at th...
