“A great slice of history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2015 NEW

A visit to this museum is interesting and informative and really takes you back in time. The video on entry brings the era to life and it is fascinating to see how iron was made but the hardship the workers endured.

Brilliant place to go even if you do not have children. Home made Chelsea Buns are gorgeous. The historical content recoded is great.

“Appears to be closed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2014

I am a ( fairly ) local resident and would like to advise that this museum is currently closed, and has been for all of the 2014 season. As far as I can find out, it is unlikely to reopen any time soon, so don't waste your time travelling to see it.
Please note, though, that all of the other local museums, that form the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust, are open as per their normal programme, throughout the year.

Very well organised. Friendly staff. Great value. A real opportunity to learn about the industrial revolution. Would highly recommend for families

“Our second visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2014

We visited this about twenty years ago and were pleasantly surprised at the developments made to the site (except for today's entrance fee!). It's very worth while visiting.
