I checked with my wife and 2 yr old child on Feb 13 for three nights. The rooms are really nice and location is really good in terms of reaching the hotel from airport (just one change if you're using metro), direct metro from La Defense (just walkable distance) to Disneyland and very near to the Effiel Tower.
I had really bad service experience though:
1. At the breakfast, there was only scrambled egg available on the first day - I therefore requested for a boiled egg for next 2 days because our little daughter was not able eat the same. The next morning, I went on reminding them about my request but they completely denied. Also the potatoes which were served got finished and were not brought again despite reminding them. So in totality a bad morning experience
2. There is a 20% discount offer on the 20th disneyland anniversary and was subject to the hotel stamp on the Disneyland ticket voucher given through the hotel. They have us but to our surprise when we reached Disneyland, the discount was not transferred because the voucher had two portions and the hotel only gave us one portion of the voucher by tearing the them apart (disney voucher number 2300005612 & 2300005613) and kept the other portion in the booklet. We paid the full price at disney and upon our return to the hotel when we stated this issue to them, they told me that probably the person who gave us the voucher was not known to this. They just didn't bother to take the responsibility of their misconduct and also equal responsibility to Disney for not transferring the benefit and clarifying the same with their hotel partner - Novotel. End of the day it was a loss to client and created bad flavour to me atleast - am sure most of us would say the same.
This behaviour is sad and with two such service issues, I would presume that their service levels are not to the expectation of a 4 star category hotel - I would prefer to live next time and save some euros than to pay high euro 200+/ night for the rooms and get such shabby service

This hotel is clean and has the basic amenities. It has a great bar area and a good resturatnt. Rooms are good size and very clean. The two issues I had with the hotel were
1) It is not located close to anything and there were not a lot of things to do within walking distance. The highways make it almost impossible to walk anywhere
2)Front desk seemed to be understaffed - had to wait 15 - 20 mins to get checked in as there was only 1 person behind the desk.

Good clean hotel very efficient but very expensive for what is really a good 3 star. It's better than the ibis next door but must stays are over €200 which is a lot of dosh so good hotel for business not so good if you are having to pay at of your own pocket

This Novotel is better than the one immediately next to the Eiffel tower. Unfortunately I fear the people who like this hotel have not experienced better. For the price difference, worth paying EUR20 extra to stay at Pullman at La Defence. This Novotel is about a 4 minute walk (with 1 flight of steps) from metro station Esplanade de la Defence (one station before la Defence with 2 shopping malls, so really you are in the middle of nowhere without shops).

There is no RER connection to this station only Metro but that's all you would need. Buy large bottled water from the bar downstairs about EUR 3. We got rooms on level 8 but there were no views so it was a bit awful with the dull brown paint. The toilet is separate to the bathroom which could be a good thing. Bathrooms have clearly been renovated but the bedroom was not. The bed is quite hard. The staff were unsmiling and unfriendly, they do lend out umbrellas but only if you ask specifically. If you lose it by accident they will charge you EUR12! for an old, crappy umbrella, thats not good service.
