Visited here on a Friday night with friends after hearing how nice this place was and we were not disappointed. Its an old building in the middle of the countryside and the atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely, traditional decor, high ceilings, a huge fire place and glass in the floor showing the celar.
The tapas menu was far from the usual run of the mill stuff and it took us a while to decide what to choose. In the end we went for a warm chicken salad, which was amazing, closely followed by potatoes with a Roquefort dressing and a prawn and egg dish which was a little like scrambled egg - our least favorite but still nice. These came as sharing platters but the main course is individual. They didn't have what I initially ordered but came up with a very acceptable replacement, a bit of a meat feast with melted cheese. To finish we all had Bailey's cheesecake and not a hint of the normal rubbery thing passed off as cheesecake.
The food was all beautifully presented and the service great, my Spanish is passable but far from perfect and they answered my questions and explained the dishes so I could translate for others. I am really looking forward to returning here in July for a large private function when I'll get chance to sample the wines on offer as I won't be driving! :-)
