“Good Times...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

Stayed for two nights visiting family in Bingham in a double and twin room. Rooms were clean and modern with nice finishing touches. Bathrooms were the only let-down, very dated and showers ancient.
Didn't eat in restaurant, although heard good reviews.
Location is great, right in the middle of Bingham.
We will be back when next visiting the area!

Hello Angela,

You'll be pleased to hear that all the bathrooms have had small improvements and the two best twin rooms have beautiful wet rooms with wonderful 'rain showers'. I'm sure you'll love them when you stay next.

Many thanks for your review and kind support.

This is a great place to stay. The owner, Nigel , and the manager Chris are two of the most hospitable people we've met on our travels and well suited to their roles. The rooms are being progressively up-graded but ours (room 215) was absolutely up-to-date. Although the bathroom is still to be renovated, everything worked well, once we worked out how to turn the shower on. (We ARE from Australia so find the British showers a daily challenge! ) The lounge and restaurant facilities are worth the visit alone, the food beautifully cooked, fish filleted at the table, service friendly and efficient without being overpowering. We visit Britain every few years and rarely go back to places we've already been, but in this case we will probably make an exception because it will be good to see the result of all Nigel's projected improvements. A gem and only a stone's throw from the big smoke.

Hello Glennis,

I remember your visit well. You are too generous in your review!

I hope you do make it back, it really means a lot to us to see our guests return. Let us know in advance and we'll ensure you get a room with a new bathroom, unless of course they are all complete by your next trip.

Warmest regards,

Nigel

Really nice B&B with excellent restaurant attached. Staff were really friendly and helpful. They went beyond the call of duty to help when we got stranded and needed to try and make it to the train station in time.

Room Tip: If you are really sensitive to road noise then best tell them that in advance and see if they can gi...

Stayed here for the first time and was very impressed. Harry at the front desk was extremely helpful and made sure everything was to my liking. The room was modern, clean and I ate at the restaurant and the food was excellent and the staff was again very polite and helpful. Breakfast was only continental although they did offer to cook me some eggs if needed but to be truthful the continental option had enough to suit me. I would stay here again and in fact thinking about coming back soon for a weekend and more of that lovely Chinese food.

Stayed here 3 nights in march.Room 216.Nice modern room but bathroom needs a little work on it.No mirror in room so could be a little awkward with hairdryer.Wall radiator woudnt work but was soon replaiced with plug in electric. Staff were very nice and friendly. Lovely Chinese restaurant on the premises. Breakfast a bit on the plain side.Could do with some cold meats and cheeses. But overall a nice place to stay and hopefully will be back.

Hello Davy Boy,

Thank you for your generous review of our recently renovated twin room.

I think your suggestion of cold meats and cheese is an excellent one and we will start offering this from next Tuesday. We offer smoked salmon as well as the full continental breakfast, fresh fruit salad, yoghurts, muffins and a selection of juices.

We have been balancing between having rooms opened to meet demand and getting the renovation work done during quiet times. The bathrooms are next on the list and we start in just a few weeks.

We hope to warmly welcome you again soon,

Nigel and the team

Would definitely stay again
Room was very modern, extremely clean and exceptionally friendly. Amazingly good Chinese restaurant on site
In a lovely little village with local shops and takeaways
Only downside, no power point at side of bed and only mirror in bathroom. But these were minor
Very good value for money. Would recommend to anyone. You will definitely enjoy your stay

The Townhouse is being upgraded and offers excellent accommodation for a weekend or short break. We had one of the refurbished rooms and it was a very smart, well thought out room, big enough and with some very modern touches. The hotel is very clean and the staff are helpful and welcoming. It's really designed for a short stay/weekend and as such offers excellent value for money and a very convenient location for the surrounding area. The attached restaurant is very good and if you stay you really should try it. Well prepared food, excellent service and a short but better than you might expect wine list; it's popular with the locals so worth booking ahead especially at the weekend - we stayed on a Friday night and it was full. We have stayed in the area every month for the last year or so and have spent a lot of time looking for a good place for an overnight stop - this is it - I would suggest that if you are thinking of a stopover you consider the Townhouse first.

Hello Andrew,

Well, a huge thank you for such a detailed and positive response. It really means a lot given the relatively short time the hotel has been in my hands and the energy that has gone into making it a comfortable and welcoming place for our guests to stay.

It is always a pleasure to see you and your lovely wife at the hotel & restaurant and we all look forward giving you a warm welcome again soon.

Warm regards,

Nigel
