“MARVELLOUS, YET AGAIN!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2012

Have to say that this is one of the best hotels in England that I have stayed at and as I got this at a really reasonable rate it was even better! Food was wonderful, even though we only stopped in at the bar for a snack, drinks were wonderfully served by a marvellous bartender, who brought our snacks over to us! Room was marvellous and the coffee in the entrance hall was yet again, one of those superb touches which De Vere are becoming one of the best in the business at doing. It doesn't cost much to present this sort of service, but I think that they are the tops!

Room Tip: Only downside, breakfast had gone up to £10.95 each, which I think is a little steep. Last time we...

Stayed at the hotel as part of a business trip.

Hotel is in a good location and lots of parking and in general the common areas are well kept and modern.

My room was a country mile from the reception, in a basement type area. It was freezing down there, the rain and wind whipped across the front of the rooms and made it very noisy to sleep. The walls are paper thin and you can hear every toilet flush, television, conversation. Also even people shutting their room doors is enough to wake you up.

The room was ok, a bit tired and the tv and signal are out of the dark ages.

I also had a rather worrying brown mark down the front of the toilet which I had to clean before I would use it...

The restaurant absolutely stinks, we all commented on the horrendous smell that never seems to vanish, it smells like a school canteen mixed with raw meat and fish. Vile.

It was ok, but nothing more than that.

Many thanks for your recent review. I am dissapointed that you were not 100% satisfied with your visit. I have sent a private message in order to talk through the issues you encountered which are not the standard we all strive to obtain at Staverton Park

Stayed here as a birthday treat. Not far from Daventry, easy to get to, well laid out and very good leisure facilities. If your'e a keen golfer, this is the place for you. Huge course encircling the complex itself. I just used the pool, which was a good size, and was just fine. Room was comfortable, TV was a little lacking in choice of channels, but there was a hugh screen in the bar with all the sports on it. Excellent breakfast served in what was like a huge conservatory. If you fancy a bus trip, there's stops just outside the hotel going one way to Daventry, and the other to Leamington Spa, about every two hours. All things considered, not bad at all.

Room Tip: Should'nt be a problem where ever you are.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel as we were attending a wedding nearby and asked if we could get an early check-in when we placed the reservation. We know that this is not a guarantee but upon arrival a scruffy bored looking receptionist was there. We told him we were booking in for the night and he said "Rooms aren't ready" when we explained that we asked for an early check-in he cut us dead and called for house keeping, then answered the phone and took a phone call from a potential customer. He just left us and carried on with a really unhelpful tone on the phone and slumped over the desk. A nice lady came and assisted and asked if we'd been helped, when we explained what he did, he put the phone down and started quoting hotel 2pm check-in policy and was really rude about, slumped back over the desk, and ignored us. When we walked to our hotel room and went up stairs as directed there was litter on the floor, plastic wrappers and what seemed to be sugar sachet wrappers. The rooms are nice and clean, but we had rubbish in our bins and when trying to request room service, reception and the bar never answered the phone. When we returned to the hotel from our wedding, we wanted food for the room, nobody wanted to help and then a chap lent his arm on the desk and said anything from this menu. I said chips - he said "I don't make chips, a sandwich or nothing, white or brown! I said white, he walked off and shouted from the door, "white or brown", after 20 mins he never returned, we went to bed.
When we wanted to go to the wedding and asked where the town was, the response we got from two people was, not from the area so we don't know, NO google, NO map book, NO nothing. So if you want a break to a hotel were the rooms are nice, hotel uses the floors as litter bins and the staff don't care and don't want to help - choose this hotel!

Easter deal was great. Only gripe was not being able to upgrade the board from room only to bed and breakfast as I paid in advance. Nice facilities in the hotel, including spa, sauna, gym and pool if you don't mind it being busy. Beautiful golf course and nice little bar inside which serves snacks. Free tea/coffee/cookies/fruit at reception was also a good surprise. Lots of bankers/business fold there on weekdays which is not everyone's cup of tea when they want to unwind.

Room Tip: Chose a newly furbished room on the inside - good view of the golf course.

Many thanks indeed for your feedback which looks like you had an enjoyable stay. We do offer an option on our booking process on the web to include an advance purchase on breakfast which also includes a considerable saving to buying on the day

I look forward to welcoming you back in the not to distant future.

This hotel is situated on a golf course and is one we often use for short little get-a-aways when we have the chance.

It has a small pool, gym and sauna which is great for relaxing because you can sit in the hot tub and watch the golfers through the picture windows.

There is a restuarant and bar that does bar meals and although it seems mainly to be used by business people and golf trips it doesnt take away the chill out factor.

Rooms are spacious, cleam and tidy.

Breakfast is good and cooked fresh.

If you are minded to it is a 10/15 minute walk to a lovely country pub that also does good food.

try one of the De Vere deals for an enjoyable short break, you can pick up a real bargain at this hotel and it doesnt lose the quality

After working very late and arriving at the hotel at 1am, the staff were very friendly and pleasent to deal with. The room was excellent and clean. After needing to be up again at 5.30am the same day, I didn't see the rest of the hotel, but looking around the loby it looked like a very nice hotel. The hotel was picked due to its location and only being 20mins away from Chipping Warden were the Area 51GP was being held.

I am delighted we were able to look after you so well during your very brief visit to this property. Staverton Park is very well located with great access to major motorways. Perhaps on your next visit you may have more time to enjoy our facilies.

Many thanks indeed for your kind review
