“Lovely stay and great hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

I stayed at Staverton Hall about a month ago to attend a training course at Hellion Lakes. They were fully booked so I found Staverton Hall online and booked.
I arrived late after a flight so I got there in the dark and I'd not printed off the directions so Rupert came out in his car to guide me in, brilliant service. Te room was perfect and huge and the breakfast was delicious.
I'd highly recommend this as an alternative to the large anonymous hotels locally.

We stayed for one night at Staverton Hall. The rooms were very clean, warm and bright. Only to be matched by the fantastic hospitality. The whole family including the dog was very welcoming! I'll be returning!

We had such a lovely stay. The rooms were very spacious, comfortable and immaculately presented (They're located in a separate part of the house allowing privacy if you wish). We felt very much at home from the minute we arrived and our hosts were extremely hospitable. The ample breakfast each morning in the large dining hall with great views of countryside was a memorable way to start the day. Altogether a very enjoyable stay and we can't recommend the place more highly.

Staverton Hall has just opened this summer, and may be it's the novelty of it all, or just the innate kindness of the owners, that made our stay here so special. Anyway, I have never received an email suggesting the menu (vegetarian no problem) and asking what colour duvet the kids would prefer... And when we arrived, this service just continued. The children ate first, after which we could enjoy our delicious 3 course dinner, accompanied by great wine, in the beautiful salon, with a roaring log fire in the back ground... what else could you wish for?

We stayed in the rooms on the first floor (3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, which would easily accommodate 4 adults and 3 kids) that were very fresh, clean and beautifully decorated, and provided a lovely view on the surrounding hills. The kids also loved the trampoline, the play area and all the animals in and around the house.

Definitely a place to recommend!

Staverton Hall is listed as a B&B, but that doesn't prepare you for the very special service and facilities at Staverton Hall, which put it a long way above what you would normally expect from a B&B. We stayed as part of a group comprising four adults and four children. We were very comfortably housed in a self-contained section of the house which has three bedrooms (there is a fourth available if necessary).

Rupert and Serena's friendly and informal hospitality was just right, and it worked perfectly for our kids. While the grown ups enjoyed a sundowner, the kids jumped on the trampoline and played football in the large garden. Although we didn't use it, there is also an outdoor pool available. At our request, Serena cooked us a wonderful three-course dinner which we enjoyed while the kids slept upstairs. Next morning, the cooked breakfast was perfectly done (in my view, this is the acid test - it is a meal so often cooked badly).

The house itself is lovely, but what really makes this place are the hosts who were unfailingly helpful and adaptable to our needs. Highly recommended.
