What can i say we had a wonderful time at Smugglers cove resort and spa. The staff are lovely and friendly can't do enough to help when you need it.
It was my partners birthday when we were there and all the staff in the waterside grill restaurant came out and sang happy birthday to him with candles in the cake he had order for desert.
The resort is around 30 years old so it is looking a bit dated. There are staff working on the resort all the time to keep it clean and repairing thing were needed.Don't let this put you off as it really is a wonderful place.
We give this resort a 5 star for location, staff, food, amenities.
There are 6 pools in total, 7 tennis courts, 3 a la cart restaurants a children's restaurant and a buffet restaurant.
The beach is lovely and the waters sports are in with your price, there is a bbq on the beach every day if you want a bbq, the chicken is great.
We would recommend you go on the boat trip around the island and to the try the mud spa, there was 13 of us on the Gemini we had a lovely time.
We meet some really wonderful people in the resort which made the holiday great.
We will definitely be returning to Smugglers cove as we enjoyed it so much.
If you are looking for a holiday in St Lucia we recommend you go to this resort as it was truly wonderful.

Room Tip: the location of our room was perfect.

Stayed at the resort for 6 nights. The rooms were a bit dated but were clean. The grounds are well cared for. The recreation staff were very good, always made sure there were lots of activities to do. Very friendly staff, from the a la carte restaurants, the Cove buffet and also all the bar staff. The food I really enjoyed. Nice and flavourful. Different themes each night in the buffet. Many choices in the a la carte restaurants. I must say this was a very enjoyable trip for me. The Island is beautiful and safe. I would visit this place again in the future and stay at the same resort. If you go here you must attend the Friday night jump party!!

Room Tip: This is a large resort with all the rooms on one floor. If you do not like walking around or have p...

After a scenic 1 1/2 hour drive from airport, The resort staff offered us a towel, rum punch and checked us into our room in no time. We were escorted to our room which was clean but a bit dated. Next day we found tiny ants in the bathroom and a leaky air conditioner but with a call to the front desk this was quickly remedied. The resort has several pools with one being a swim up bar. We enjoyed the hot tub nightly and met some great people there. The ocean water was warm but a little rough undertow and rocky, so spent most of our time in the pools. The food in the Italian restaurant was very good and I loved the beautiful view and ambience of the Waterside grill restaurant however the smoke from the grill was blowing around into your face most of the night. Whether you eat at the buffet or restaurants you will always find something good to eat. I can't say enough about the staff, they were friendly, attentive and very helpful, had lots of laughs with them. There is a duty free jewellery shop on site as well as a store and some shops which sell local crafts, clothing etc. Most of the entertainment was good but their sound system could be upgraded.

I recommend an excursion to see the volcano and Piton mountains as well as the market in Castries" We did a speedboat excursion from buddy on the beach "Typhoon boat" . He took us to all the hot spots along the coast as we made our way to the volcano, then on our way back stopped for snorkelling/swimming at Sugar Beach and waited for us while we went shopping in Castries. He will stop wherever you want him to.

I rate the resort a 3 but the staff definitely deserve a 5.

Room Tip: We stayed in the 200 block which was a short walk to the lobby.

We loved the island , we loved the food, we loved the people !!! The hotel room we had was very clean and nothing to do with all the bad reviews. OK the beach is not big and the sand is not like Cuba but overall very nice. The chairs were better than most places we went to. We were lucky we got a super deal , when we talked with other people at our hotel or on the flight back they paid alot more.. A MUST.!!.. Streetparty in GROS-ILSLET every friday nights wow!! streets closed to let the people dance in the streets and eat BBQ..We went to DIAMOND FALLS,,,very disappointed( should of listen to tripadvisor reviews loll) .The other fall you can go swim or dip in the water for 3 $ very worth it ...PLantation wow !..Volcano boff.. We took a Taxi for a day 9am to 8pm with Micheal super service very patient and shows all you need to see. He can be called by ZAMBO the bird maker on the beach. At the beach alot of free activities Beach towels can be changed everyday..Night shows ok but not great..Castries Fleamarket every saturday.. The resort has alot of hills did my week of legs exercises!! Enjoy !!

Room Tip: Don't pay for SUPER deluxe rooms not worth it. . With the deluxe rooms have all you need.No bal...

I'm just back from staying at Smuggler's Cove and had a great time. Reviews are largely spot on - It's not a 4* hotel, but a very good 3, with pleasant staff, nice rooms, good food and pools. It could do with sprucing up. But it's better than the St Lucia by Rex in Rodney Bay and worth paying a little bit more for.
Food: great selection in the main restaurant and if you get bored there, the other 3 restaurants (included in all inclusive) are good. They also had a beach BBQ at lunch. Great selection of drinks.
Service: staff really friendly and willing to help. Any problems were sorted immediately. I went on holiday on my own and the staff made me feel completely at ease.
Rooms: I thought they were nice! If you're after an early night, I'd avoid the rooms nearest the main restaurant/bar area as the music can be quite loud, especially Fri/Sat night. I asked to move from room 414 and was given a lovely room higher up and away from the noise (room 362). I had a king size bed in 414 and a king and a double in 362!
Location: 5 mins north of Rodney Bay (where the beach is arguably nicer than at the hotel), so a little bit further away from Soufriere etc, but can easily get around by taxi - the hotel has a taxi rank. All the tours were able to pick me up from the hotel (rainforest trekking, scuba diving, biking etc).
Other: gym is fine and there are regular exercise classes. I enjoyed the pilates class, but the bootcamp was hard work! They do sailing, kayaking, snorkeling, banana boat rides etc (I think included in the all inclusive)

Room Tip: If you're after an early night, I'd avoid the rooms nearest the main restaurant/bar area as...

Enjoyed a week here.
Booked with virgin , wanted reasonable all inclusive on beach.
Overall it was good. Reviews are pretty on point. Rooms / hotel deco all need update same with some cosmetics to buildings.
The beach only 200meters long. Good selections of pools plenty of sun beds by pool or beach.
Food in buffet always varied which is good , lacked seasoning in everything and most dishes were pretty overcooked , especially on the carvery station . The waterside grill was nice too.
Gym outdated , grounds very well kept and managed.
Staff always smiling and helpful.
Watersports ok , there are some boys with jetskies which was good.
Loads of activities on offer to do in resort or various things outside to do.

Some guests were drinking way too much and being loud by 3pm.

Overall was ok but wouldn't return would rather pay little more for higher quality resort next time

You need to be an opened minded traveller when staying in thus resort! The staff are there for your every needs and are always seen keeping busy! Jeffery the hotel manger, whom I spoke with says he trys to make their staff understand that! The food is excellent especially at the Italian and Asian Restaurant! The rooms & washrooms need a little upgrading but you are not spending 7 days here in these rooms, but what the resort offers and excursions you plan if that is your style! Duty Free shops on site and have great entertainment nightly. Internet pretty much limited to the pool area by the Piton Lounge and Lounge itself! Upon arrival our A/C was leaking and all it took was a call too front desk and was fixed promptly! Ants were discovered and was the same again. I was very pleased with my 7 day stay and would recommend it to anybody going to St. Lucia, but with an open mind!
