We ate at the New Inn on 14th 15th august, the food was very good, the owner and his wife were very friendly. The drinks were good value, 3 real ales. The next time we are down that way, we will eat there again.

“Good Country Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

The New Inn at Wedmore is very welcoming - even the locals who 'prop up the bar' are friendly and welcoming unlike some country pubs we have visited. The Food is first class and freshly cooked to your order. There is no intrusive so called music.

“Great food, Fantastic hosts.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

We enjoyed the food so much that we returned there for every night of our stay. Both Debbie & Frank are great hosts and made us very welcome on each occasion. The New Inn has a great atmosphere which makes you feel that it is a place where you want to stay.

With a very good selection of foods that is very reasonably priced cooked by Frank. Debbie's deserts are fantastic and more-ish. Loved the cheesecakes and chocolate brownies.

The only disappointment is that we were on holiday and your so far away. Otherwise we be there more often.

“We shall return....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

We were on our way to Wells,we passed the New Inn and decided to turn round and give it a try.
What a good decision!
A warm welcome from everyone in the bar and a nice family atmosphere.
A good selection on the lunchtime menu but we opted for rump of lamb which was on as a special.
And special it was .......we agreed it was the best meal we'd had whilst away and I reckon the best lamb I've ever had.Followed by homemade plumb crumble.......excellent!
Good beer as well,it's a CAMRA pub.
We plan to come back to the area and will certainly visit the New Inn again......it's what pubs used to be like in the good old days.
Highly recommended!

“Dried spare ribs”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013 via mobile

The ribs were overcooked and very dry. All the BBQ sauce had dried up. We were never asked if we had enjoyed our meal. I paid at the bar and explained about the ribs. All I got was a sad look and no apology. No discount or refund offered. As I had left half of them it would have been plain to see. On the good side the fish dishes were enjoyed by the party and there was generally a good feel to the pub with a gang of locals enjoying themselves at the bar.
