“Relaxing and comfortable place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013 via mobile

We loved staying here. Great location for exploring Wells, Cheddar and Glastonbury and situated in a lovely village. The room we were in was stylish and comfortable with everything we needed. The bathroom was spacious with a lovely bath and luxury toiletries. Having a digital radio with iPod dock, free wifi and decent tv was great and with the comfy bed we were keen to get back to our room after an evening in the bar eating and drinking. Good ingredients cooked well and a really wide selection of drinks in the bar from local scrumpy to Japanese lager kept us from trying other places in the village. Next time maybe...

My wife and I have been staying in a cottage in Wedmore. There are 3 pubs in the village and we tended to frequent the Swan. Staff were brilliant, nice and friendly and very capable. They have an excellent selection of bottled ciders but no farm house ciders and given that there are some excellent local producers near by I would have thought they may have promoted them.

We didn't eat here so can not comment on food and the drinks where a tad on the expensive side but over all very good and would suggest a great place to hook up to the real world whilst sipping a craft bottled cider or five!

The minute I walked into our room I felt really relaxed. The decor was lovely and the room was light and airy. The bed was huge and very comfortable.
The bathroom didn't have a shower, but the bath was luxurious and they had the most lovely toiletries.
In short, difficult to fault. Would happily come back again.

Room Tip: We had 6 which was very nice.

Stayed at the Swan twice this year and overall our stays have been excellent.

We did have an incident during our first stay, which resulted in us spending a (very) chilly few hours in our car overnight. However, the response of the pub management and subsequent service were faultless and more than made up for the inconvenience and discomfort.

Food in the pub: Great steak. Good burgers. Everything you want from posh british pub grub.

Rooms: Big, freshly decorated and huge beds. One of the rooms we stayed in didn't have any where to stash your underwear, but apart from that, it was lovely. Our second stay we had a fab room with a freestanding bath in the window.

Be warned, it *is* noisy in the evenings. Remember this is a pub.

I'd definitely recommend the Swan to anyone looking for a reasonably priced place to stay, with delicious food and a very lively bar.

Stayed last Friday. Loved the uncluttered but comfortable atmosphere. The bed was extremely comfortable, the breakfast was fab, the bath deep, the beer and cider nice and pleasantly served. Woke up and walked into Wedmore - a delightful 'postman pat' type village of stone houses and green hills. It was, all in all, a good experience.

We've eaten at the Swan several times both in the restaurant with family and friends and more informally in the bar. The Chef uses local british produce creatively and we have never been disappointed. The wine, beer and cider selections are good and the ambience of bar and dining room is right up there with anything on offer in the locality. The Sunday lunch menu offers good traditional fare which will not disappoint. If you are into good food in a great environment then give the Swan a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Just back from a wedding at the Swan this weekend, what a fantastic place. The rooms were perfect, staff were friendly, attentive and great at what they do. Food was great and breakfast was fantastic. Can't fault it.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great. Especially those with Superking beds, which were most of the ones I saw!
