“Great way to relax after a morning climbing Pacaya volcano”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2012

After a morning climbing Pacaya volcano all I wanted to do was sleep! So relaxing at the spa was a great alternative. First we had an hour of being taken into different thermal baths (with different temperatures that is). here we were also given a lovely smoothie. After that we went to the sauna for half an hour, then a 25 minute massage and clay mask. Felt great! Would definitely recommend it. Staff were very organised and sweet.

Couldn't fault this place at all a great place to relax and feel like a princess for the day! Free shuttles leave Antigua on a Wednesday which adds value!

“Relaxing day :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2012 via mobile

I took the free shuttle from Antigua (every Wed, leaves at 9 AM from the Cathedral), in a modern clearly marked van.

While enroute, the driver arranged for my massage / coffee body scrub. The scrub, one hour massage, and hot tub "tour" cost $85 and included a smoothie.

Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, relaxing day. Little English spoken. Would go again!

If you are looking for a relaxing experience with great service, you have to visit Kawilal Spa. Their staff is friendly and very professional. My husband and I loved the time we spent there. When you visit Guatemala, Kawilal Spa is a must.

“A little out of the way, but none-the-less enjoyable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012

After a day of traveling what better thing to do than to spend the day at the spa. Relaxation is exactly what I was hoping for and exactly what I received with the exception of the drive from Antigua (about an hour each way). The drive wasn't bad (the shuttle is one of the nicest you'll find around) but after a day of flying I really wish Kawilal was directly in Antigua.

The hot spring water circuit was an interesting experience, and definitely splurge for the extra long massage- it was amazing! Overall the prices are very reasonable for an entire day at a spa. After the day at the spa we were revived and ready to tour the rest of the Guatemala!

If you haven't hiked Pacaya, you may want to combine a moning hike with the spa in the afternoon.
