We stayed here for just one night and we will be sure to book again. The motel is the perfect base for a stay in Brightlingsea. Not only are the rooms excellent - clean and spacious but the owners are first class. The breakfast is also cracking, and 'mother in laws' babysitting service is highly recommended (looked after our 8 week old son in order for us to eat as a family). As I stated above the perfect base in Brightlinsgsea. When we go back we owe them 2 Stella's from the fridge!! Thanks for helping to make a special time for our family perfect. The Chapman's.

Dear The Chapmans

Thank you very much for your wonderful review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at the Motel. Travelling with such a young person can be challenging sometimes as I well know! We are thrilled that our "baby sitting" service helped you. We hope to see all of you again in the future.

We stayed for 3 nights and were really impressed, the room was spacious, clean with great facilities. The breakfast was brilliant and we were really looked after. Safe and secure parking is also a really big plus. We have no hesitation in recommending the Brightlingsea Motel.

Stayed again earlier this year to attend a family christening but had to wait to give a second review. It is beginning to feel like a home from home. Would stay nowhere else now when in the area. Still miss my mushrooms for brekkie, tho. But can well understand why hey are not available. If I bring my own next time, do you think they would cook them for me? Bet they will.

What's not to like about this place ?
Motel is right in the centre of delightful Brightlingsea with everything you want and need right on your doorstep. Secure parking behind electric gates, park your car right outside your room. Delightful friendly owners and staff who make you feel right at home from the moment you arrive.
The room was spotlessly clean, thermostatically controlled heating, so you could have it as warm or as cool as you wanted. So often I have stayed in hotel accommodation where the owners have skimped on cheap mattresses, not the case here, top quality firm mattress, excellent nights sleep ! The free wifi was a real bonus.
At breakfast it just got better, it was nice to see so many quality branded products here, Heinz ketchup, lurpak butter, you get the picture.
Too often you hear people moaning that their hotel accommodation isn't up to five star standards, forgetting they haven't paid for or are indeed in five star accommodation.
The owners of this place have put real thought into it, so credit where it's due, thank you. We would certainly stay here again without hesitation. Warren Rhodes, Northampton.

We stayed at the Brightlingsea Motel to visit the Colne Yacht Club which was about 10 minutes walk away. It is easy to locate on the high street. The welcome was good and we were shown our room and its facilities. Parking for our car was in the courtyard area and gaining entry was explained as we would be returning to our room after midnight. The room was just what we needed for an overnight stay, with good heating (thermostat control) and a comfortable bed. The bathroom was a good size with shower and white towels. We were asked what time we wanted breakfast which is better than being told it is only available for a set time. This was served up with toast and tea (or coffee), well cooked and very filling. Overall a very nice place to stay.

Stayed in Green Room. Bed smaller than average hotel room but quite comfy. Breakfast acceptable but "The Full English" was a little sparse and no mushrooms. But was enough for me. Spotted some mould round shower tray. Naughty-naughty - that could be easily removed.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Brightlingsea Motel. The beds we have are standard double beds. Kingsize beds are normally only found in large chain hotels. Our beds are pocket sprung and very firm, providing a very comfortable nights sleep.

Our breakfast consists of: 2 sausages, 2 rashes of bacon, eggs cooked to your choice, fresh tomatoes and baked beans. There is also, tea, coffee, orange juice, a variety of cereals and white or granary toast. We have served mushrooms in the past, but due to lack of demand for them they were removed from the menu.

I would like to apologise for the silicone around the shower tray. We have experienced a very high demand for rooms this season. Rooms are cleaned from top to bottom after every use. However, with such a demand, to re silicone needs 24 hours to dry and it has not been possible to address this problem. However, since your stay, this has now been rectified.

We do hope that you can join us again in the future, should an event bring you this way.
