Description: The Brewers Arms menu is quite extensive and we try to cater for most tastes, from vegetarian to fish and meat and although we have lunch items the whole menu is available all the time during kitchen hours. We source our main ingredients locally where possible and almost all our dishes are homemade. The portions are very generous which makes gives the customer excellent value for money. Our Sunday roast has become legendary in the area which has resulted in the need to book in advance or be disappointed. The pub is open fromm 12.00 midday -11.00pm every day. Our opening times for food are 12.00 midday - 3.00pm and 6.00pm - 9.00pm Mon - Sat12.00 midday - 5.00pm Sunday, last orders for food 4.30pm

“No longer serving food”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2014

We stayed in the pub's B&B on a Saturday night. Unfortunately they stopped doing food at lunchtimes and evenings back in April. Shame given the reviews it used to get.

I'm very sorry that we have had to stop serving food. This was a financial decision tken after a review of the business. The pub and B&B are still open for business as usual. We always recommend booking before turning up to save any unnecessary journeys.

“Don't serve food anymore”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2014

Real disappointment, we like Brightlingsea but have always had an issue with the lack of places to eat. Given the reviews on tripadvisor we thought we had cracked it, lunch at the Brewers Arms. No such luck, went today for lunch and we're told they no longer serve food, apparently they stopped a couple of months back.

“Good mixed grill & surf n' turf”

Food was good and service very good, a little bit noisy in bar next door (but that could have been just bad luck and the Landlord was away).

“Sunday lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2014 via mobile

Four of us went here on Sunday for lunch. Not our first time, we have never been disappointed.
We didn't book our table till Saturday, luckily they managed to squeeze us in as the restaurant was very busy.
Typical country pub decor, clean, tidy and cosy.
The staff were fantastic throughout the pub, but the young lady who served us in the restaurant was exceptional. Very polite and friendly, very knowledgable, professional, and efficient.
All four of us had the Sunday roast, two lamb shanks, one chicken, one beef, although there was another menu available.
The meals were great. Very tasty. Nice size portions, all very hot and fresh with a good selection of vegetables.
Nice selection of desserts for those that like to finish with something sweet, again, nice and hot and very well presented.
Certainly worth a visit if your looking for somewhere to eat, but you might want to book to avoid disappointment.
I'll be going back.

“Warm welcome, delicious Sunday lunch and good beer.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2014

From the moment of our friendly welcome, we knew the scores on here were well deserved. Excellent Sunday roast with plenty of freshly-cooked vegetables accompanied by a pint of real ale. Pub hospitality and food at its very best.
